I hesitate to put this here as it isn't a "houseplant" in this part of the country, but to you in the more temperate climates it would be, and it was given to me as a houseplant. After finding out what it was, and reading up on the care "gently remove the pups,and repot seperately, as the mother plant will die after blooming", I figured I would probably kill the poor thing, so I took it out of it's pretty basket and set the whole pot out under the lemon tree, and ignored it. That was four years ago, and as near as I can tell, the mother plant is alive and well in the center of this 6" pot. this is Aechmea fasciata today...
