I agree I have never grown them but they are wonderful. Actually I have a soft spot for thistles of any kind. Is that an oxymoron (soft spots for thistles)?

That was some cold front that came through here last night. I woke up this morning to 51 degrees and it is only 67 at noon. Overcast and windy makes it worse. Folks are dressed like they are going ice fishing. You northerners would find it hysterical.

Took a walk around today.....remnants of the garden. Fall Camellias, roses, clems, cosmos, Viburnums etc., making their last stand.

Great fall color pics, Janice. I just heard we are going to be in the mid 40s tonight. That should bring about some changes.

Nice Janice! I had a short stroll around the garden this afternoon, wondering if tonight was going to
be the first frost. Crying

Thank you, Jim! Yes, it is to be quite cold tonight here also, so the frost will do them in.

They keep revising the overnight low downward. They now say record lows of 41 or 42 degrees. That forced me to take the vandas and the licuala palm into the garage. I have no idea how I managed to aquire 25 vandas but there they were, all waiting to be protected. Someone must be sneaking them onto the lanai during the night. Confused

Jim, 25 Vandas? You did well.
Perhaps you need a tall rack on wheels, so you just roll the whole thing inside?

We think alike, Lindsey. The problem is where do I store it the 360 nights a year I am not using it? If I had a barn out back, I'd have one.

I woke up this morning to 49 degrees out on the lanai. That is a far sight better that the 41 they were predicting. So, moving all of the vandas was not necessary. I'll just call it a drill.

Yay! I would find a moveable stand that they live on in the lanai so it's a (warm not cold) breeze to move them. Hilarious!
