I finished just before dark. Temp is now 48 degrees and falling like a rock. It was very hard trying to cover plants with a strong north wind blowing constantly. I felt like I was parasailing most of the time. I'm glad none of you could hear my curses as my little tents blew down about as fast as I erected them. I did the best I could and now it's out of my hands. Here is the mango tree.

Jim, that's pretty impressive, almost as impressive as the greenhouse on tracks!
I worked outside today myself and I agree about the Burrrrrr.

Ok...my zone envy is on hold, for now. We have been down to 35 at night and mid 60s during the day for a couple of weeks, but are expecting a warm spell this week..."flirting with 80 by Sun." according to one weather person. Alas, there is a huge front moving down from the gulf of Alaska though, so the warmth will be short lived.

Lindsey, Love the hat!

Just back from the gym and took a look around. All of the little tents and blankets held and did their job. The lights were still on as well so I shut them off. High to day of 56, which is cold for here. Tonight should be a bit colder with no wind. That will bring on radiational cooling and prehaps frost. I could see no damage on the plants.

I think we should start calling Lindsey 'Nanook'. Hilarious!

Possibly a skinny "night heron"? Can't tell the size from that pic. We have a lot of herons here. They are mostly coastal, but they frequent the golf courses and other water features inland.

Last night we had the season's first frost but there was no freeze. I went out to the fountain at 6:30 AM and put a finger in the water. No ice. The tents were holding so I think I'm in pretty good shape. Tonight through Sunday should be decent but then another Artic blast comes in. I have taken the wraps off of the plants so they can get a little sun and will wrap them again on Sunday. This is the first time I have seen this kind of cold in December and the one cold front after another reminds me of last winter. Thumbs down
