Kathy, do you start with new bulbs each year or do you keep them going over the summer
and recycle them? I have never had any luck getting them to rebloom. When I used to shop
the flower market in Amsterdam I was always amazed at the size of the bulbs..usually melon sized..
for $7.00!
I have gotten many to rebloom (like this one) but after a while they seem to slow down. I got lazy last year and left them inside (too much carting). This year I plan on keeping them indoors but with more light. The reason I kept them in was because of 2 summer when it rained twice or three times a day. Lost a lot. But they would prefer to be in the ground in NC (morning sun probably best). I always get a few new ones to make sure I have some bloom. In Oct-Nov I cut off the leaves and put them in a dark, cool room and stop watering for a month or two. Then I bring them into the light and water again. By Dec-March I have a show. 2-3 years ago I had 3 blooming at a time all winter! I have around 40.

I think you've got it right , Kathy. Mine stay out all year, but we don't get any rain in the summer to rot them. Mine are just starting to put up leaves. That reminds me, I need to put out snail bait!
