Yay!! I think maybe the voles are under control in the long border because alot of the plants that I seeded are blooming now. Last year every seed I put there mysteriously disappeared. Hurray!

I am reposting these pics to the new thread. This is passiflora edulis. P. edulis is the best eating cultivar and I'm in it for the fruit. Mix some in with lemonade and you'll think you've gone to heaven.

Wow! I didn't know that, Jim! Beautiful and tasty, too!
Thanks, Carol. I have been cutting the Lilies just as fast as they bloom and I feel guilty posting the pics of them in vases on this thread, as they are not strictly "in my garden" anymore.......

The pink Lilies on the left are just one stalk.

Love the lilies! That Day lily looks like the one I got from Costco last year...supposed to be "chocolate candy". They tweaked the photo ALOT! I still like it though.

Thanks, Carol! Don't know the name of that Daylily.
Oh, here is the Lord of the manor. He looks rather benign, but don't be fooled...he bites and scratches...the neighbors' cat.
We love him just the same!

Oh, for anyone interested, Santa Rosa Gardens (Thanks, Jim, for the heads up earlier in the season!) has their blowout sale going on now and have Bletillas at rock bottom prices FYI. Huge markdowns.
I received the most beautiful plants from them earlier, and just placed another order.
They ship gorgeous, healthy Salvias and Agastache and grasses, etc. Beautifully packed. And free shipping for orders over $100.

Must go look. I can't believe you have lilies!! You are at least a month ahead! The neighbor's kitty has a preference for magenta I'd say.

Look out kitty kitty!!!!!!! :whistling:

Janice, thanks for the new thread!!!

Well we got the straw paths down today. Very proud of this achievement because if I do it too late, they are out of straw. It takes 14 bales for the paths. I had several breakthroughs including finding out that they deliver (and were coming this way today), attaching the cart to the tractor with a special attachment I've had but never tried before today, so my son could get them up the hill three bales at a time without doing it manually, getting a battery charger for the tractor, and finally ordering the right amount!

I always worry before the tour about timing. And this year is no exception. The beardless irises and peonies have been exploding open in 90 degree heat the last week but tonight and tomorrow it will be low 40s at night and that should slow things down. (Again, I am glad the orchids are not outside.) (Again, thank goodness no hail!) Peak is usually 6/15.
