Tropical Isle: Has a deeper, more pronounced pink edge this year--probably due to the cool spring and early summer weather into the first week of July. Single bulb dividing, 3 stems, 1 stem disbudded. Medium size flower

What a very nice yellow trumpet, the reverse is striking and of course, 'Tropical Isle' and that pink edge are stunning, very pronounced edge. Thumbs up

Today is upright Trumpet day. I'm not a big fan of uprights and I'm running a little behind so some of these flowers are a little past their prime.

Here's an upright 'Silver Angel' Trumpet-Harold's Angels Group (Don Egger), that sneaked in here along with two upright Silver Angels (TM). The two Silver Angels (TM), while really beautiful, have since perished. Note the strong candelabra pedicel feature that is characturistic of the late Don Egger's Harold's Angels Group. In the photo it is wedged in between some Golden Angel (TM) uprights and Copper Angel (TM) uprights. The Egger uprights appear more 'dainty' looking while the newer uprights appear more 'bold' regardless who's been working on them or what they're called.

Here are some of Johan Mak's improved Harold Angels that I bought as field run--random colors. Mine turned out to be nice shades of pink and lavender. 6 plants.

Lorn, I am loving the pink uprights! And uprights are generally not my favorite among trumpets either. The pink looks nice there though. Do you end up staking a lot of your trumpets?

Such distinct colors!
Where did that picotee edge come from? Unlike most lilies, it looks like it extends all the way to the end of the petals!
A truly stunning lily flower. Øystein, I hope the rest of the plant is as nice.

Tracey, I only stake as absolutely needed. Somebody asked me that a few days ago--they saw some of my 2 and 3 year olds in bloom were leaning way over. My answer was and is that it's part of my evaluation process. I will stake and tie back for pictures or to allow for better development of a particular plant I'm studying, etc., but otherwise no.

Nice trumpets Lorn. Øystein, I love that CK06 HT13 seedling! The dark edge is outstanding! Also love Betty Sturley and the yellow tango with the recurved petals.

Thanks. I see now that I forgot to write the cross. The cross are White henryi fleck x CK06 HT13. This is my second picture of it. The seeds comes from Charlie Kroell. When I asked him about the White henryi fleck he told me that it's a white henryi seedling in his garden with "flecks". I don't know how the mother looks like but this is the father:

I have one more seedling from that cross that are blooming but it's not that exiting.

Well, it was a 'bright' surprise anyway, since most of my crosses and seed lots produced a fairly narrow range this year. And then this one comes due and WOW--kinda opened my eyes! Smiling

Gabriel's Wings: Has struggled a little it's first year here. Sturdy stem and tall, it has a nice clean white face with a rather unattractive reverse.
