Argggh! I just had to evict a momma raccoon with babies from my Springhouse! Of course, during the night it just had to step on and dig up some of my seedlings! Grrrr....

I know it's nice and comfy in there, but it's a nursery for flora, not fauna!

Chelle : I dont believe I could deal with the newborn kritters.
I was turning over my black box composter last spring and flipped a nest of baby voles. They are back again. What a great source for warmth and food all winter.

Do you see much heaving of perennials with your awful winter ?

No, there doesn't seem to be heaving in the gardens. The deck, sidewalk and house did, but I think the snowcover was so thick and prolonged that it kept the gardens safe. We still have some snow left! Hilarious! Hopefully this week we'll see the end of the old stuff.

I have the Havahart trap set up for tonight. Rolling my eyes. I need to catch momma while her young'uns are still tiny... then they can go away together.

Neal - it is wistful thinking that I would like a lot more land. My 1/4 acre suburban lot is probably as much as I can handle Big Grin

Wise thinking ... the warm(er) weather went to my head this week. Actually made a list of what needs to be done on our five acres....overwhelming to read.... Blinking

Finding sprouted seedlings is always very exciting Hurray!

The weather is warming up, no rain is predicted in the next few weeks, so I finally turned the sprinkler system on.

Catherine - 5 acres - wow - that is a lot of land. What do you have growing out there?

I would love more space to plant an orchard - I only have room for 1 each of cherry, persimmon, nectarine, pluot, lemon and tangerine.

Rita, yours are stunning! Thumbs up

My hellebore have a few blooms, and the daffodil parade has begun.
