Peggy , when Judith Freeman , re-ignited my spirit in January, I went seed crazy , with all these crosses.. They will be good, & If I showed you some of my comparisons, in seedling form , you would be Gobstruck!.. Middle of winter & big 'spades' poking up... And yes Lorn -all are gone from the bath , To the Balcony ..Standing back up within 18 hrs! Blinking
lily freaks are not geeks!

You must have a magic basement, Anthony, for getting winter seeds up!

So exciting, Peggy! Could I make a couple of observations? Smiling

Did you just have rain or is the potting mix always wet? Based on my experience, you could keep their potting mix drier than it appears to be - being too wet is a health hazard for little lilies... but then the baby bulbs are on the surface. Being on the surface has probably helped them succeed if conditions have been wet. Once they're tucked in (just covered) with a layer of mix though, they won't like wet feet.

I winter sowed the seeds in December.
Yes we have been getting a lot of rain here everything is mushy here right now.
If you would have a mind at peace, a heart that cannot harden, go find a door that opens wide upon a lovely garden.

Nice! A natural cycle for the lily seeds and they like it. Thumbs up I like sowing in winter here too, but one thing I watch for is protecting from excess moisture. We get alot of winter rain, but even more in spring, so I start seed boxes under cover and keep mixes open with lots of coarse sand. I lose babies if they stay too wet.
