I am so far behind on the great postings to this thread.
Jeanie I am so glad the squirrels did not find the caladium in that bed. They are wonderful, what a happy surprise that must be for you.
I agree with David, the hijacked caladium would have been gorgeous in that hanging basket. But even without them it is absolutely lovely. Lovey dubby

Oh no, Jo Ann are you trying to get me hooked on another type of plant? The 'Las Vegas' gladiola is a picture of sweetness. Do you save the bulbs over the winter?

Jewel your containers are wonderful. I love the first photo of miniature hosta. What a great way to display them. I think I would like to give that a try on my covered deck. Just a small container, by deck is very small. And what a great idea for a shade screen using the red runner beans. @Toni gave me some last year to grow. I fell in love with them. Even started getting some yummy beans from them. Then the deer found them, ate them to the ground.
I would love to see a close up of the container in the seventh photo, the bowl to the right in the photo. Really looks interesting.

Here is one I planted 2 weeks ago. Just another one for a chuckle or two. Drilled a hole in a scrub pad holder.

Sedum lydium

David, we bay at the moon with the wolf often...with mosquito repellents burning for light Rolling on the floor laughing

Lynn I love the sedum planter..too cute. The 5th and 7th photos both have an old enameled dishpan planted with succulents (lewisea and sedums) that rusted through. They are perfect for those plants in my climate. In winter they live under the glass topped outdoor tables (best buy ever for keeping semps through the winter).

Jo Ann, those glads are gorgeous

Great planting of hardy succulents Jewell.

Now you've gone and done it Jo Ann. I am just going to have to try gladiolas next year.

I agree with David on the combo of coleus and gladiolas.

I still have the succulent wreath, too. I had it laying on the patio and the Grumbling chipmonks dug a hole in it.

Holly, your planters are reall well filled out.

Lynn. I grow the dwarf glads. The standard ones require trenches for the bulbs and then they need staking. The varieties I have grown did pretty good in planters, and I would plant the corms as deep as I could.
