Pheadra,
Bless your hearts. Poor Collier said he had watched the whole thing. Didn't feel the house lifted, but felt it put back down.
That greenhouse was their retreat and tropical garden. I hear the pool is finished on the way to the greenhouse.
He was so put aside he had to share his grief.
He was just in time to hear mine;
How do you eat an Elephant? A bite at a time!
I decided I would very carefully clean out my front beds by hand because I knew where bulbs were planted. As I was gently raking the leaves I was discovering new plants coming up every few feet.
A fellow pulls up and brings me his yard care card. He says he will bag all of my weeds and mow my yard front and back and we negotiated a price of $125. My yard is small and I often have 100s of plants crammed in.
I proceeded to show him several plants and explain I wanted to rake myself as I didn't want to lose my beautiful little Chinese Peony Tree, my budding Amaryllis, and my Stargazer lilies. Well I was going to town raking the leaves out and he said why don't you let me blow those leaves out? It was hot and they were deep, so I said ok. Well I heard him out there "blowing". When I went out they were roughly raking out what was LEFT of the leaves, AND My beautiful little Chinese Peony Tree stub, my budless Amaryllis, and my remains of my Stargazer lilies! I have been experiencing a very bad bought of Turrets Syndrome ever since!
The heavy layer of Live Oak leaves were excellent mulch. The only thing left growing were the Black Berries. It's now easy to find and pull those.
Pheadra, that is so heart breaking. If you decide to do a rebuild party let me know.
Group hug
Sidney & 'Mom' Hilarious! Smiling

Oh my Pheadra, I am so very sorry. But I am glad you are all ok. Such a sense of loss.

Sydney. I am so glad that yard man is still living. And I hope you are kidding about Turrets Syndrome. Blinking

Oh My Pheadra!!! My heart breaks for you! That must have been some scary stuff!! What a shame but I know Collier will have things up and running in no time at all.

Oh Sidney, you've had the same kind of week I have had. Didn't you want to reach out and grab him by the throat? Rolling on the floor laughing

Last week I asked Chase to get boxes for me from his work. I now have over 100 boxes in my living room. Everything around here is in such a mess and we will be living like this for over a month.

We had home inspection this week and the new house passed with flying colors. Only a couple of small things that the seller has to fix. I'm getting so excited but I have so much to do also that it kind of dwindles my excitement.

And I'm still fighting with my bank over my credit card that was compromised. What a PITA and something that I shouldn't have to be dealing with. The bank should have taken care of it. I see a new bank in my future. LOL

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Thinking of you today Pheadra....

Morning Brinda. I know you are so excited about the new house. I looked at the photos again. Be sure to keep before and after photos of the yard. I can just imagine it filling up with plants.

About the packing up. Thumbs down All I can say is, divide and conquer. I hate having so much to do, I can't decide which to do first. So I stop, take one project and just dive in. (sometimes Rolling on the floor laughing ) I hope you have great success with packing. And your doing it at a great time. SPRING CLEANING. Just think, all those things you've been wanting to get rid of, now you can. I wish I could go help you pack. And I love your new house. Thumbs up

Oh Debbie! LOL I have so much to do and so little time anymore. Too bad I didn't take advantage of my free time during the cold weather. Had I done many of the things I could/should have I would be so far ahead now. LOL

IS EVERYONE READY FOR CUTTINGS?????

I just finished making all the baggies for your cuttings and I'm getting ready to your address in the USPS site for shipping. Then I have to go dig out my priority boxes. I best do that quickly as Allan is messing around in the garage and he just might throw them out. Ack!

Get all your goodies ready... if NCFarms ships to my on Monday (which I hope they do) then you should have your cuttings by Wednesday or Thursday. Yippeeeeeeee!!!! Hurray!

It will Debbie. My Sweet Mom is normally my helper on this cuttings co-op so it will be sweet sorrow when I sort & pack. I think my aunt (Mom's sister) will be here to help me. She is committed to helping on Tuesday so I sure hope they mail out on Monday. If they don't mail until Tuesday, she has oral surgery scheduled for Wednesday so I'll be home all alone packing. LOL But it will be fine as long as I have everything done before they arrive, it will go smooth.

Allan has spent most of his day outside cleaning and working on the pool. It's such a beautiful day outside today and I really wish I were out there but since I won't be planting anything here, it just feels like I should be spending my time inside doing something productive. (like taxes, yuck)

Yes Brinda, I'm ready for tons of cuttings - alas, the coleus season in Stockholm don't start before mid-June! LOL

What a marvellous new house, must be a fairytale to move into it. Congrats!

No, nothing yet! I've got everything ready and I'm sitting here waiting on the doorbell to ring.

I guess I should call them and find out if they shipped yesterday or I will be sitting here twiddling my thumbs til 10:30. LOL
