Sorry Debbie, I was typing when you posted! Do not worry, do not be sorry!

I'm getting so revved up for cuttings. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping and I need to play in the dirt!

You're so welcome Tami! I do hope you enjoy them.

If you haven't grown the alternanthera before, they are so simple and easy to root. And they make great fillers for containers. Last year was my first year with them and I really loved them.

I love them too, Ronnie! I just have never had enough shade for them. But hopefully I can find a bit more shade at the new house than here.

Happy Easter Everyone!!! Group hug

Debbie, the New Guinea Impatiens need shade and they are so pretty. Just remember that they are a water hog if planted in containers! But you'll soon see that if they need water they will droop over like they are dead.

As long as you don't let really dry out, they bounce like coleus. An hour after watered they look great.
I'm going to Craig's list and see if I can find a digger! I lost sizable Hibiscus and a few other things. I am being very cautious about what I hoe/pull as I am seeing things sprout that look like they belong. Daturas, and my Clematis are coming round. I think I have a whole bed of tiger tails coming up. I like mass plantings.
I still see no life in the four 13' tall Crepe Myrtles.
I'm actually glad the Hibiscus bit the dirt. Hilarious! they too get straggly if not kept pruned. I had three red ones that were Thumbs down overgrown and not spectacular. Glare
Opps, I thinks I posted this in the wrong place.

Sidney, there is no wrong place for you to post. I'm interested in all your plants and what you are doing. That's how I continue to learn.

Brinda, I will put them in my dappled shade garden. This is what they said on the website about containers. "If grown in pots or hanging baskets, these water drinkers will seem more temperamental to drought or temperature stress. Plants should be transplanted to larger containers or the landscape as they become root-bound." The only thing I will have to watch is the 80 degree days. That's our spring weather. Rolling on the floor laughing

80 here today, too. wind is around 30 mph and we're supposed to get storms tonight. Brinda, thanks so much for the extras!
I lost a few plants this winter because we went down to -4 for 2 nights, and it hasn't been that cold here in 10 years. The zone 7 plants that I just put in last year are what bit the dust. I knew I was taking a chance when I put them in. We're really zone 6.
I'm stretching soaker hose out today for the areas where I'll plant the coleus. I'm putting in profusion zinnias with them--won't that be a wild dose of color! I bought some more canna tubers since all mine in the ground rotted so I might put them in as a background. Getting ahead of myself because I'm so anxious to see all these different coleus..I had first better figure out where I'm going to put all the rooting flats.

I used to tuck mine along the front of my house under shady bushes. Not this year! All shady bushes are Kaput!!!
I'll string them out in back yard under shade of Water Oak.

Oh Pheadra! I'm so sorry.
Hope you and your family are ok.
Make sure you wear thick soled shoes and check the tires on your car because tornadoes can leave sharp pieces of debris everywhere.
Hang in there.

OMG! Is everyone okay? I just had a load of potting soil delivered and all my plants are out in the open. I think it will pass us by though. At least I hope it will. Sad
