That's a relief I have a warm room and bright indirect light i should be fine.

I really think that Ken's Mini Purple looks very much like the Maxi Purple that Jim posted from OrchidWiz. Other than the obvious color diff which is probably camera/flash related, the shape and markings in the lip are very similar.

the pod still has not opened, hope it is normal for orchids to take this long. ????????

It is normal for some types of orchids to take a long time to open. Your orchid looks fine.

Looks good, Sharon. As Jim said, some of my plants will go from sheath to blooms in weeks. I have several plants that have been in sheath for three months. Still waiting to see the buds. I hope I live long enough!

Have you ever noticed if the flowers on the slow to bloomers last longer?

Nope. Only the temperature that I keep the flowering plants in seems to matter. Cool temperatures definitely keep the flowers going longer than warm temperatures.

Probably not, as i ordered one with little or no fragrance due to perfumes give Dean migraines

That is a beautiful one, Sharon. It sure does look like my 'Mini Purple'. I can't remember whether there is any fragrance or not.

So far, not a hint of fragrance. Still pretty today. Sent pics to all family me members
