Jon - You received some VERY nice seedlings from Michele (tink3472)! And I really like the one you posted a photo of today! Were they labeled with parentage or not?

They might have been when @trish got them, but they are not more. That one is extremely fade resistant, but the other 2 get dried out completely the end of the day.

Jon - Fade resistance is a good characteristic to have in a daylily bloom/plant. It may be a good plant to use in your hybridizing program! I think it is beautiful and has lots of potential as a parent! Thumbs up

Those are all from @tink3472 from her seedling sale last fall. (they are actually "mine", but Jon is obsessing over all of mine while he gets his own collection going) None of them had parentage. Thumbs up
Tink- can water damage happen when the flower is still in the bud? That was the only rain.

Lots of tets will be partly open the night before and even a heavy dew can cause water spots on some.

I have four clumps of this seedling and this was the only clump I had not taken a photo of until now. Why I did not take a photo during May and June is beyond me. Just luck it sent up a late scape from a fan increase. I wanted to make sure it was the same as the others because I may register it this year.

This is the last thing I flagged to move this fall. As you can see I have flagged 38 daylilies which is about 30 to many.

Those are both beautiful, Fred. I am hoping to add a few spiders to my gardens this year, and will look for something similar.

James - Your DD x WOJ is beautiful! Wow! I wondered what that cross might produce! Very, very nice! How big are the flowers?

Thank you everyone. It stopped me in my tracks that morning. Took me a couple pictures to capture accurate colors. That picture is straight off my phone!

The flowers are in the 6-7 inch range. I think in the ground with good sun the stats would be better. It's currently with 3 other seedlings in a 2 gallon pot.... But the good news is that all of them survived sustained periods below 0 with no mulch!

Of course, my mother has already laid claim to the first fan! Big Grin

Ooh, that last one looks really stripey and cool! Love it! Those are all great seedlings, but I'm really partial to the last one!

You know, I've been upset with this one seedling of mine because it's kind of twisting around, especially when there is more than one bloom involved. Is this what you'd call "twisting," then, or do I have it wrong?
