I think that those two blooms are just two close together Betty. Very nice seedling.

Fred has it right Betty.

What I mean about twisted is how the petals curve and twist in another direction.
It's kind of different look from most all the others I grow

I like the last one the best myself it has a broken color pattern on most of the blooms, plus a great plant habit

Really nice James
Hope that last seedling keeps up the good plant habits, all are nice Ed.

Things have almost completely stopped blooming here, but every once in a while a new scape will pop up.

Fred: Another beautiful seedling. I know what you mean about keeping too many sdlgs. I have kept 6 out of 19 sdlgs., rationalizing that I will re-evauate next year. Thumbs up

James...Stunning cross. Really fabulous. I tip my hat to you. I have both DD and Waves of Joy. Next year I will cross them. Waves of Joy was new to my garden this last Spring, and did not boom this year.

Ed....I am so excited to see your photos of 'Wild Child' cross because I won B-25-A seeds from you last Fall on the LA. I also have that same sdlg. cross w/'Something in My Teeth' also won from you on the LA. I love that twisted look from 'Wild Child' and the colors are lovely. Fingers crossed that my sdlgs. produce some outstanding blooms. Hurray!

Betty...I love your sdlg duo. Great bloom. What is the cross? Thumbs up

The cross is STIPPLED STARSHIP X ALIEN FORCE. I always give the seedlings that I keep over to the next year nicknames, and this one's nickname is "Flossing." The first picture is from its first bloom, back when the weather was cooler; hence the deeper color. And then the second shows how it looked a month or so later when it started heating up here.

I really barely gave this seedling a second look back when it first started blooming, but when it got warmer and the teeth got a little more fringy I decided to hold onto it for another year.

Fred, I love both of those seedlings -- especially the spider! Just yummy!!!

Nice seedlings everyone!!! Really like your first one Fred, pretty color combination with the subtle eye and what looks like a double edge.
Keeping to many seedlings....guilty, I do it every year and the next year I say I'm not going to do it again and then I do. Rolling my eyes.

I am guilty of keeping too many seedlings too. I really need to start getting them out of the beds. I have no room to plant new ones.

I have never, ever had daylilies bloom in August or September. Usually I am lucky if they make it to the end of July. Well, several of my seedlings (which are at least 2 years old) rebloomed. Ironically, the blooms are all the same or very similar. Some may be divisions, but some are probably crosses of the same parents ... but I can't be sure of any of those theories because they aren't marked. They are unknown parentage. The other surprising thing is that these were the ones growing in partial shade. None of my full sun daylily seedlings rebloomed this year.

And my final surprise is that I have not seen any active rust since early Spring. I am looking to see if any rust develops now that Fall is soon approaching. This has been an usual year for my daylily seedlings. They look pretty good instead of all raggedy. And I have a couple more buds getting ready to bloom! I am amazed!

This is what my reblooming daylily seedling blooms look like. They all look similar to this one regardless of the daylily plant. There were 5 - 6 of these plants blooming, all in my shade garden. My guess is they are related by genes.

knock on wood...this has been my most rust free year ever. I had a rebloom the other day as well...another first ever in August. As for plants with the same genes blooming at the same time, that is how I 'try' to match up my sibings with lost tags, they do seem to bloom about the same time.

very pretty flower. OOOO I have better luck with some shade too, shade cloth works well too. The plants I take to my mother in Indialantic stay dormant most of the summer. Its exciting your stay growing.

Pam - The ones I have in the front yard get full sun all day long. They bloomed in June, but none rebloomed this year. I had replanted them in that garden area last Fall, so it could be they were not well established yet. Maybe next summer, some will rebloom. And I am very sure that all my rebloomers were siblings or even divisions. Odd that was the only reblooming daylilies. But all were newly transplanted this year. The partial shade really did prove to be a positive situation for many of my daylilies as they really look better than the full sun daylilies. But I am most amazed that none have rust to this point. Last year, they had rust off and on. It will be interesting to see if they develop rust as the weather cools in October.

Betty - Thank you! I do like the coloring of the blooms, too. They struck me as "serene", as well!

Nothing special, but it was pleasant to do and, I was like a kid the day of christmas, in pajamas very early in the morning, in the garden to see if the flower appears!

Welcome! orijuju! You have some very nice seedlings. They are all pretty and I can see why #3 is your favorite. I am hoping that in 2016 (gosh that sounds so far away!!!) I will be doing what you did this year... going outside in my pajamas to see what might bloom that day Smiling . I gathered seeds for the first time in 2013, refrigerated all winter, planted this spring and have 49 seedlings. Hope they make it through the winter!
