Ha! Well, it may not happen; she hasn't called yet. And she is also sort of bribing me because there is lots of garden stuff etc. that she hopes I will take off her hands, as it were.

Did she call Kyla? Hope you found some treasures for yourself if she did.

I eventually called her; turned out she had scalded herself when her glass teacup exploded from too hot water (is the theory) and splashed her! So she was dealing with a burn and had forgotten to call me. She did call again last evening with an update, sounds like she is okay and she said she would like to attempt our project today.

I'm willing.

Today is forecast sunny but cold and windy and going to freeze tonight, it says. The wind is really unpleasant, gusting a lot. I don't think we got any measurable rain yesterday though I haven't yet been out to check the gauge; I think it was just gray and wet.

No rain for us here, either. But windy and coooold this morning.

Hope she calls, Kyla!

The sun just came out! So that helps.

As for my friend, she is a very mercurial sort so I don't expect things either way. Plus which, I know she has a lot on her plate right now so I am happy to be very flexible. It doesn't put me out at all.

It feels cold! Only 40 degrees but it is the wind chill that does it as the wind is blowing something fierce. I thought my little dog looked so windblown on our early potty walk.

Yes, the wind is right bitey. I wish I could do stuff outside but haven't managed yet to rouse myself to face the wind. We're supposed to have milder weather over the next few days.

So, yes, eating soup here, and my friend did call. It's been a bit of a discombobulated day! Most of the morning it was too darn cold out there with the wind gusting like it did, but around 11:30 I went out and did some stuff, was putting another layer of mulch on the first new bed when my friend called! So I hurried through that and she came and picked me up, and we did a few things in her yard too.

The next few days are supposed to be warmer but tonight it's forecast to dip into frost territory for the first time.

The rain the other day, we got maybe an eighth of an inch. But Thursday we hope for more!

So did you come home from your friend's with anything new for the garden? Green Grin!

Well, sort of. That dish of succulents has a patch of sempervivum and a couple varieties of sedum, and those babies are going outside. The rest of it I have to keep in, I think.

A couple of nice pots, and that was all, but it's fine. Later on there will be more, no doubt!

We sort of have rain.

It isn't as much as forecast, at least not yet, but after being mizzly and just sort of damp all day, it's finally rained some, this evening.

And it is due to get colder again, nights into the 30s. And there's a mention of possible snow in the next week, though if it does snow I feel sure it will just be a kiss and a promise!

Has been raining here all day. Tomorrow I'm supposed to get the roof replaced on my house. The weather forecast had said it would be nice enough for this. Fingers crossed. If not, we'll have to reschedule.

Mostly, I'm just hoping for good enough weather to spend some time in the garden. I'm taking some time off work on Monday so I have a long weekend to get things done.

Oh, I hope for good weather for you too! Getting the roof done, that sounds important. But getting you out into the garden is important too.

Can you believe it? Thunder, lightning, rain and hail today...November 6...in western Pennsylvania. I'm not at my home in S.central PA yesterday/today/tomorrow. I'm staying with my darling 90-year-old Aunt Mary who has just come home (yesterday) from a month in the hospital following a heart attack. She's doing great; the quick little bunny sneaked downstairs to the basement and did a load of laundry by herself while I sat in the dining room thinking she was upstairs in her bedroom. *lol* She's just been diagnosed with diabetes, so we're learning all about how to use her injector pen...fortunately, only has to inject insulin once a day.
I am not "country" I am "landed gentry."

Good for Aunt Mary! May we all be so nimble at her age.

It did rain a bit last night, I think we got maybe an eighth of an inch total. I've given up on expecting any significant moisture from the skies here, honestly!

Today is sunny and lovely and brisk. The rain was enough to wet down all the leaves I'd spread on the new beds, so that was nice.
