Eggplant season here. The round one is an Indian Eggplant about the size of a baseball. Others make me think of fat sausages.

Well, Monday I pulled out and bagged up all my Spring planted Greyzini variety zucchini plants. All gone now and that area of the garden looks so bare without the plants. They had grown massive.

Meantime around the beginning of August I have started seeds and now have 4 new plants in my second planting. They have been flowering and today picked my first zucchini from them.

I had ordered some Neptunes Harvest Flowing Formulas Liquid Fertilizer last week and it arrived yesterday. Today I used it on thise zucchini's and also on my eggplants.

I have used Neptunes Harvest Fish/Seaweed Blend for years. Great stuff!! Now trying this newer formula to see how the plants like it.

I think I was just lucky. But I see quite a few more zucchini's on the plants that are going to be ready in a few days.

Picked another zucchini today from these plants. And watching three more that might be ready tomorrow as I am not letting them get too big.

Already one of the plants has wilted leaves from a bad stem caused by SVB damage. The plants are not going to last long but I will get some fruit from them.

Darn, they still got to the late crop. Those buggers!

I found one ripe small tomato.

Seeds from last weekend look good! Loads of babies.
Plant it and they will come.

Yup. I was afraid that might happen but it was worth a try.

SVB were still flying around here 3rd week of August and they are supposed to be long gone by then.

I can't really start any later as then I just run into the end of the season and cold weather.

i guess I won't feel bad for not trying, Rita.

My.. one pitiful Large Barred Boar tomato, but still tasted super. Something magical in some tomatoes!

Tomorrow forecast looks great, I should be out cleaning up the garden some more. Checking on two young butternuts that may or may not get mature. Looking for more pole beans. Cut some chard.
Plant it and they will come.

It feels like Fall this weekend.

The tomato plants need a warm September to finish up all the green tomatoes coming along.

I know I have been complaining that the newer second crop of zuchinni is already badly damaged by SVB damage (bad stems) but I picked 4 zuchinni .

This year these small Patio Baby eggplants have been awesome!!

You're amazing, RIta. My tomatoes are long gone, eggplants never happened.

I do have enough habaneros to share in the neighborhood again some jalapenos, big bertha bell pepper doing very well, getting beans off Rattlesnake pole beans, and ate the first butternut yesterday. And batch of swiss chard.
I planted some fall greens a few weeks ago, , more radishes last night, and fertilized lightly. Probably too lightly, I'm a wimp with dry fertilizer, even organic.

I found some leaf roller caterpillars on the beans, turns out they are a skipper and not especially damaging around here, so I say Hurray!
Plant it and they will come.

I am eating my sweet little tomatoes about 1 or 2 a day, very sweet. That is all. My one pepper plant has 4 peppers, the peppers are striped, I do not know whether they are edible or not. I bought it because I had never seen it, pretty. Forgot whether they are hot, tried to download the photos I took, but it did not work.
