I just love the puppy pics. They're just too cute. Lovey dubby Nice job everyone. Hurray!
It's been puppy washing daze here. Alfie is chained in the tub so he can be scrubbed and rinsed without jumping out. Darth on the other hand has to be held back till Alfie's done, he loves water and really loves the personal attention of a bath. Molly is about as bad as Alfie in her dislike of water, if you can imagine a 10#, long haired, mini dachs with one foot braced in each corner of the sink. Hilarious! She's the easiest, brush her out, wash, rinse, and conditioner. Dry, then brush her out again. Smiling

"Naturalist Sy Montgomery rekindles her dormant childhood desire to talk with animals in a narrative that shimmers with grace and wonder. Ten tales poignantly personify 13 critters both commonplace and exotic, from Tess the border collie and Chris the extroverted pig to spiders and octopuses. "Many young girls worship their older sisters… [Mine] was a dog, and I… wanted to be just like her: Fierce. Feral. Unstoppable," …Montgomery's lyrical storytelling and resonant lessons on how animals can enhance our humanity result in a tender, intelligent literary memoir."

I'm still searching for a food that fits all our dogs. Molly our 14 year old toothless dachshund needs foods easily softened. Darth can be picky about his food and likes his moistened. He also would like to relax with his meal. Alfie just needs foods not easily inhaled. Rolling on the floor laughing He's so bad I've started gating him in the kitchen till the others are done. He was never that way until after he was boarded a few times. We were able to leave kibbles in his bowl all the time but that was also before Darth.
The best thing I had found was Purnia Pro Plan Focus Salmon and Rice. I also give them supplements of coconut oil and canned pumpkin. We were feeding the Focus until we were sure Alfie's allergies were seasonal but Molly had some trouble eating it. I still have hope in finding one size fits all. I don't want to feel like I'm running a doggie Bistro here and it make it easier for someone else to care for them.

It's hard to imagine what people did a few decades ago before all these special foods
Counting us lucky cuz a we have to do is 'always buy pate' for our two cats, and watch out for a few rejected flavors. Really, is there that much difference between what is in those cans? Ocean whitefish VS tuna? I doubt it Sticking tongue out
Plant it and they will come.

Honest Kitchen is a food that is dry meal that you add water to in order to make a mush. A very high quality food.

1 part food to about 3 parts water and it plumps up to a nice soft easy to eat and digest very healthy food.

My dog Lily has been eating it for years although it is not the only food that she eats.

Wonderful photos, and what a great pillow -- Christmas present for Bonnie?

You are going to miss River as well as Bonnie when her house is done. Good thing it's just through the woods from your place! When is she hoping to move in? Does she have a realistic adjusted date?
