My Kaly cat is a lightchaser. She isn't interested in toys much but if she sees a reflection of light move across the wall, she is ON it. Hilarious!

I tried to capture her intent look but didn't quite get it. But she's so pretty I'm going to post these anyway:

I gave Lily some chicken gizzards raw which she loved and ate right up. So after that tried some of the new freeze dried dog food patties. She liked that also. Now she is eating her kibbles as she must still be hungry.

All three cats here ate more than usual this evening too. I like it when they eat well! And I wonder if they know something! Like, it's going to get colder than the weather forecast says. Or, the world is going to end and this may be the last time we ever get to eat Turkey/Giblets!

Whistling Hilarious!

Rita, gosh, thanks for posting, I was beginning to hear crickets in this room....

Hilarious! Hilarious!

In Lily's case I think it was simply a matter of having gotten a lot of exercise at the park this afternoon so she was hungry. Of course treats were passed out and all the dogs got treats but not enough to fill them up.

She loves it when we go to the park with her doggy friends. She gets to play a lot and like I said, there are always treats to be had for good doggies. Lovey dubby

Notso these. They all pretty much lazed around all day. So, my theory still has merit.

Of a kind.

Back from the park and doggy playdate. Lily, Zack and Georgia (all dogs) seemed to really have fun today and us ladies got to chat a lot. I get my exercise walking to the park and back but the dogs really get the exercise as they run around and play.

Today Lily ran even more than she normally does. Seems to have tired her out as she went off to take a nap now.

Poor Riley dog. He is my future SIL's cocker spaniel that lives full time at the house. With the colder weather we aren't outside as much and he doesn't get the kind of exercise that he does in the summer. Apparently Suzanne, who only sees him on the weekends, has decided that he is getting way too chunky and has banned all of us from giving him treats until he drops a few pounds. I don't think Lowell, Mike, or I give him THAT many treats to begin with, but with the ban on, Riley looks so sad...

Oh they really miss those treats. I know my Lily dog just loves to get her treats.

You could cut back on his food ration so that Riley could still get some treats.

I dread the really cold weather coming as I know Lily and I will not be able to get in so many walks. And Lily does love her walks and is one of these dogs that really needs her exercise. In fact my friend with her Greyhound came by before noon so we all went off for a really long walk with our dogs and I just got back inside. I am tired!

Doggies don't want to not get those yummy treats.

Really, simply cut back on the amount of kibble in the evening meal so that you figure in the treats.

I know when us ladies get together and walk to the park and let our dogs play, there are always plenty of treats passed around. So Lily has to get less actual food on those days in order not to start getting chubby! Rolling on the floor laughing

Are the treats being given easily breakable? I get thin biscuit types that are only about an inch square. Break it into four pieces. Each dog gets one piece. They don't care about the amount, just that they got a treat. Smiling All of us are happy.

Yes, most treats are breakable and do get broken up into smaller pieces. That was what was one treats gets to be multiple treats. Dogs are happy they got lots of treats, or so they think.

Remove one half cup of the kibble and replace it with one half cup of (preferrably organicno salt) canned green beans! That's what we did with my sister's dogs. Along with a daily walk (which they had not been getting) and LIMITED treats, they lost their extra weight and were happy too!

That measure is for big dogs though, for a cocker spaniel you might want to work with a quarter cup substitution.

Lily refuses to eat anything like that, just spits it out. I have tried beans, peas in pods, carrotts and such. On the other hand she loves bread or muffins. Silly dog. Rolling on the floor laughing Lovey dubby

Charle ate a Ladybug (live) yesterday and I almost had a fit. I turned my back to get something for it to crawl on and when I turned around with the paper, the ladybug was gone. It had to be that he ate it. Oh I feel terrible. I love my ladybugs.

Then this morning I walked out on the deck and he has a really big hornet down and playing with it...I got that away quickly because it was cold and was not moving very fast. It looked like a queen (if they have them) but it was really big and all I could think of was it stinging him and then more vet bills. Vet comes tomorrow anyhow, but gee I which he would stop this bug thing he has............ Sighing!
