We used to take the beef heart and cut it open, clean it and stuff it with your favorite stuffing. I really like it baked like that.
I never feed Charle raw meat....too much chance of bacteria here in this place. Rolling on the floor laughing Jersey you know.

I don't give her much raw meat but I do like to give her some. And she doesn't get it everyday. But she does just love anything I have given her raw.

The beef heart was sliced so stuffed wouldn't work. I just saw it and thought it would be a good raw protein for my dog.

It is really good if prepared properly. Lucky Lily....I love chicken hearts too. We can't get them here. Seldom get them in whole chickens anymore. I would guess raw meat would be good for the dogs....our hunting dogs always ate raw meat when we cleaned the things we shot. They got the feet of the chickens and the heads when we used to kill our own. They were outside hunting dogs and did not know any different. Back then, they also ate horse hoofs. Now if you have a dog around where the blacksmith is working sometimes, depending on the dog, they will eat the hoofs he cuts off. I have no idea what is so good about that. Never had a horse hoof stuffed or otherwise. Shrug!

Yes, our furry carnivores appreciate a little red meat from time to time... Sticking tongue out

I know that people do feed their dogs raw or the BARF diet (bones and raw food or AKA Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) but going that way is not for me. I do feel that Lily is getting excellent nutrition from the diet I do have her on. Top quality Kibbles and Honest Kitchen Dehydrated food. But I would like her to receive the benefits of adding raw to her diet upon occasion.

Yes, I think it's all good! My cats get high-quality kibble and that's it, but I'm sure they would love something raw and meaty every now and then. If I ever cooked a raw chicken like my mother used to, I might leave them all the innards! Smiling

They would sit in a circle around the body, staring at it. Then one might reach her paw out and tap it and look disappointed like, 'why aren't you moving anymore?' Then they'd all walk away and leave it there for me to clean up! Hilarious! Sighing!

Funny but my entire life until these past few years I have always had cats. Even when I had dogs I also had cats. My family had cats all the time I was growing up or I should say we had a series of cats. Love cats, great creatures. Just for some reason after my last cat passed on a few years ago I just never got another.

Now I have my little dog and she is plenty for me. She is a busy little girl and very active. All good for afternoon exercise but she can get into mischief if she has too much energy not burned off. Oh to be young and full of energy!

Last two days have been taking Lily dog down to the beach to just let her run each afternoon. Today I decided it was time for the usual afternoon exercise walk for Lily and I. So we walked and walked and walked. Took the long version hike. I am poofed and even Lily seems to want to rest as she is having a nap now.

Lily ears look big enough for her to fly away here in this picture. Hilarious! Her spiffy sweater that she is wearing was made by a friend.
