I really am loving it!! And the strips of mown grass allow me to get around okay to the garden beds plus make it clear that my 'meadow' is deliberate and not just neglect. Big Grin

Here is a photo of one of the alleys across my lawn with the 'meadow' arising on either side. The grasses are quite pretty--there seem to be a lot of different varieties, and a lot of them are in bloom right now. There is one that's sort of reddish violet (far left) and one that's sort of lavender (3rd one in), and then there's one that is fuzzy white balls everywhere--I think I will need to try to get an id on it.

I love this! How wonderful, Catmint! If I had the say here I'd do something similar -- actually we are sort of doing something similar in a more manicured way. That is, the "lawn" is what will grow there. But, it does get mowed. I don't think the "shaggy look" would be acceptable here though personally I adore it.

Still, when I told my cousin that the Johnny Jump-ups would seed themselves and migrate into the lawn, her eyes lit up. Green Grin!

thanks, guys! Thank You! Lovey dubby

Rita, I am not sure! I have some ornamental grasses that I've allowed to seed, and once I got an 'ecomix' grass seed that I might have spread in a few places, but that would not have produced such tall grasses.

I wondered if you had gotten a meadow mix type of grass seeds. Anyway, I love the idea of the mixed unmowed grass! Thumbs up

The one with the cottony blooms has been identified as Orchard Grass, which is a host plant for a couple butterfly species, so I'm excited about that. Thumbs up

Cat ... I really like it. It's got texture, which I think makes it look more interesting.

Hey you all....it is hot and humid and I am lovin it. We do need rain but with the winter we had, I am just in heaven with this heat. It is difficult to ship but if they do not want to wait until it cools down, they can buy someplace else. This is my time. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

I used every spot I could think of for my tomatoes. Here I have planted a row of Rutgers tomatoes along this raised terraced bed. Picture from when first planted. They are much bigger now and blooming.

Here is the middle part of my upstairs yard where I put two rows of tomatoes and lots of summer squash! Picture from today.

I'll be spending the next week tweaking mine, as that Garden Walk is next Saturday.

Okay, have figured out why I am not more 'productive' with my gardening time! Big Grin Here's this morning:

Out bright and early at 7:30 am, ready to work.
Got distracted by all the pretty blooms and went around taking photos.

8 am ready to work.
Realized I am missing a tool and spent time searching for it. Couldn't find it; decided it will turn up.
Realized I needed to spend some time cleaning other tools.

8:30 am ready to work.
Filled up my watering jugs.
Dithered around looking for the perfect spot for my new coreopsis.
Got distracted by the pretty blooms and pollinators; took some more photos.

9 am ready to work.

Hilarious! Hilarious! Whistling

Rolling on the floor laughing Catmint,
I've had a pretty mildly productive morning. Did a little weeding, planted some of the annuals I have waiting in the wings, potted up a few plants, did a little watering and gathered up some stuff that needed put away.
Life is Great! Holly
