This is going to be fun Fun FUN! Hurray!

Our resident acorn tycoon, @zuzu, and I are offering up a special incentive to encourage comments in our database in the form of a fun contest.

Starting now and ending next Thursday at 7:00pm Central Time, all comments in the database will receive DOUBLE acorns (one from the system and then at the end of the week I'll give you an extra acorn for each comment you posted.)

Then on Friday we will have the big drawing - every comment is a ticket to win. I'll then randomly draw one lucky winner who will then receive a whopping 250 acorns from zuzu! What will you do with 250 acorns? That's your business! Buy shiny new microbadges, purchase tickets in future raffles, give them as tips to other members, or buy a tee shirt with them when we offer them again.

Now, please, keep a few things in mind:

1) Don't post one-line comments. I reserve the right to exclude your comments from the contest if you're abusing it (not that anyone here would do that, of course. Green Grin! ) Comments should be informative, educational and helpful to the other users of the database. Also, avoid personal notes ("I grow this over by the barn where I can see it from my workshop where I paint and make glassworks.") Smiling

2) Proofread your comments at least once before you finally submit them. Reading your comment always helps you find any little errors that need correcting (this is something I need to do more!)

3) Don't post the same comment (or nearly the same) to multiple plants. Make sure each comment is unique and specific to the entry. If your comment applies to all cultivars of a certain kind of plant, then post the comment to the non-cultivar version of that plant.

I'm not planning on doing a video of the drawing BUT if we get more than 250 comments during the coming week then we'll do a video and make a bigger deal out of it. Smiling

Dave, are you going to announce the contest to the general membership, on the Home Page, too?

I've been lurking on the Daylilies forum for a couple of months, and there are great contributors there who post pictures to the DB all the time. But many of them I don't see anywhere else on the site.

HOLY MOLEY!
250 acorns is an awful LOT of acorns!!
Always opinionated, I'm sure I'll add a comment or two.
But I don't KNOW enough to add a lot of them!
Just my own meager experiences.

THANKS zuzu and dave!

Giving credit where credit is due, I have to admit the idea came from @NJBob, who donated the same number of acorns to an earlier contest of this type.
