I am sick of the Aphids attacking an [b]Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki'.
Have to do them now, and all because my neighbour grows Broad Beans! Grumbling

Due to the bad winter, my Acers are only just starting to come back to life, I thought I had lost them.

A very dangerous sight! Sarah in her going to war trousers with the cordless Hedge trimmer.
I felt sorry for the poor Ceanothus and had to look away, but you have seen nothing yet!
Thumb of 2011-04-13/NEILMUIR1/dd7791
The big palm we thought was dead but does have new green shoots, Note the Clematis on the wall behind.
Thumb of 2011-04-13/NEILMUIR1/331456
We had to cut all the outside of the palm off. Now no more Clematis, and Sarah's coffee cup on the table!
Plus untold Garden Rubbish as well. All that in front of Sarah is the remains of the Clematis!

Well... hope you kept the coffee cup! Sarah will need a refill when she's finished. Rolling my eyes.

These Aquilegias can be a pest as they cross and you get all sorts of colours! Then they seed themselves everywhere, which is another pain in the rear.
You cannot give the things away as everyone has the same problem with them!

I have enough with the weeds in cracks , try and catch them out before they take too much a hold.

They like our gravel driveway as well.

First I. pumila in bloom. It is an alpine speces from middle Europe & when crossed to tall bearded irises in the 1950s produved the surrent standard dwarfs.

Sorry that you have to click to get the entire flower visable. My fault when getting it in the computer.
