Well, now that I have gotten my last order in I thought I would brave a count and see just how nutty I am on the "how many irises did you really order" scale from slightly sane to totally wacked, well here goes.

New (to me) irises purchased 112
New (to me) irises recieved in trades 66

Grand total = 178 new to me irises.
P/S: I did recieve several duplicates and ordered some duplicates to increase some clumps, and these are not included in the total, as they are not new to me, I will have to recheck my numbers on them, but I think its around 10 of these.

Here is the "How many irises did you really order" scale

1 to 30 = Just kid stuff Smiling
31 to 50 = A good start Sticking tongue out
51 to 75 = Slightly off balance Confused
76 to 100 = On the Edge! Whistling
101 to 125 = Over the Edge Glare
126 to 150 = Pretty messed up Crying
151 to 175 = You need your head examined Grumbling
176 to 200 = Bring on the paddy wagon! Shrug!
over 200 = Men in white coats coming with strait jacket. Acorn

Soooooo, Lets see the final tallies, We want accurate figrures here, no fuzzy math allowed.

Don't even have to count -- I'm definitely *just kid stuff* this year. Shrug!

So do you have a paddy wagon on order Tom? Green Grin!

Gads - I am Crying Pretty Messed Up.

But they aren't all bearded iris! And don't dwarfs only count as half? Rolling on the floor laughing If so then I am only Glare (Over The Edge)!

Thanks heavens I don't have to count the iris I bought for momma Gwen's royal purple/yellow/white bed! I am sure that would put me in the Grumbling category!

Me thinks there are more in your future that will put you strongly in the "Pretty Messed up" category. Or, maybe advance you to the next one up! Sticking tongue out

I find myself in the same category as Leslie (Lestv) in that I am "Pretty Messed Up". I have as of now, 136 new cultivars (this does not count replacements for lost cultivars). But our local Iris Societies picnic is upcoming and then there is the regional event on October 25 with guest speaker Rick Tasco. I think my number will rise. The only question is will I reach "Your head needs to be Examined"? I think that is too far away. Blinking

Well, I though I was so careful to be accurate, but I missed two, and so my total is 114 new and 180 total additional cultivars, so I'm still in the Paddy wagon!

Leslie, the little guys count as one! So you're Crying pretty messed up! Rolling on the floor laughing

Mary Ann, I don't order the paddy wagon, it will just have to find me! You will have to improve your classification next year, or you will be far too sane to mix with this group of nuts! Rolling on the floor laughing

Either they already came with the strait jacket for Arlyn, or else he has to wait until he gets his last orders to count. Or maybe he ran out of fingers and toes! Hilarious!

Counting for-postage gifts and the 30 NOIDs from mamajack?
126 to 150 = Pretty messed up Crying

I'd rather do a happy-happy about it--does the desire to dance around them instead of crying about my intensively-gotten gains put me in a special "I'm-SOOOOO-in-trouble" category/scale?

Well, Mr. Tom, I am not through. I will be working the iris sale this weekend and I may wind up with one or two more. Do replacements count? Do bonuses count? It would not be my fault if wonderfully generous iris people nudged me further down the primrose path..... er, iris path.

Extra's count if you planted it, unless you already have that cultivar.

I started with 4 named iris this Spring and added 95 through purchase and trade.

BUT, my son and I filled the back of a CRV with NOIDS and added another box of NOIDS. So, we are white coat category. Blinking Oh, and then there are the ones I snookered out of a brick sidewalk and one little toe of a plant at the zoo.

I am disappointed there were no old iris dumped about at the cemetery. I did get discarded Dahlia bulbs.

Oh noooooooooo Mr. Tom -- please don't eject me from the group!! Don't forget -- my Iris Lane was ruined, my fenceline bed wasn't finished, un-ending spring rains prevented me from working on either one, then my back went out. It's been a shi**y summer, all things concerned.

I'll try to do better -- I really will!!! I'm as insane as anyone here -- really I am!!! nodding Hilarious! Rolling on the floor laughing (hoo-ah-hah-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!)
