Awwwwww. I don't think there's another woman out there today who can do that one-two punch like she could. Phyllis Diller was another... Maybe it's a generational thing. But she was funny...

I liked her. She spoke her mind. Going to miss her crazy antics.

Just got home and found another rhizome in the box! Glitter Gulch - so one more flouncy one! And bright yellow to boot! Hurray!

I got to see her perform live once in Vegas. She had me laughing harder then I ever had before, and probably since.

I went to Walmart today to get groceries and I ended up doing the one thing everyone says not to do, I brought an Iris rhizome (in my defense I did only buy one) but I figured since this is my lucky day(finally finally got some rain)and it is only 3.85 I will see what I end up with Whistling It is a large rhizome bit dried out but I do see some greenery and it has several babies attached.

It is suppose to be Firebreather and this is Mary Ann's photo of it.

Vi -- I hope it is Firebreather -- you'll love it! That Iris glows from across a large yard. My picture does not do it justice.

Well, I've been out all day and you guys have been busy!!!

Tomorrow I'll go out and check how many English Charm I have...I should have 2, I'm not sure about 3 but if I can spare them I'd love to share. I probably only have 1 Chocolate Ecstasy right now...but there's always next year...and I'm sure I have at least 3 Crooked Little Smile. As for the others many are new or are the ones that have been confined to a pot, so if I get them in the ground in the next couple weeks I should have some available next year but it will probably be 2 years for a lot of them.

I still have a lot of Calamity Carol that no one has spoken for, and I forgot to list Queens Circle, though so many people seem to have it I don't know if there will be any takers.

As far as trades this year...I'll see what I can do. I would love to do some this year...but I'm just coming off a week of rest due to exhaustion and have to pace myself...and I have all those irises begging to be freed from their pots and be given a place to spread their roots! So I'll have to get back to those of you who wanted to do trades...but please trust that if I can make it work I would love to do some trades this year!!! nodding nodding

Ok, now I'm off to respond to those of you who sent individual emails....

P.S. Leslie,

If I have a third Chocolate Ecstasy you are on the list...if not there's always next year (and was it Arlyn who said he might have some next year? ) Anyway, one way or another I'm sure we can get that one off your wish list! Smiling

Barbara,

I was looking for something and stumbled upon the website for C and T Iris Patch (I don't know anything about them...) but I noticed that they have Scarlet O'Harlett in case you are interested... http://www.candtirispatch.com/...

...and for those of you that are tempted by some of the older cultivars, or who have Noids they are trying to identify...they are still open till mid-September!! nodding nodding

I just gotta say...after poking around C and T Iris patch's website I looked at the 'about us' page...and found out that they curently have about 3,200 varieties of iris (of all sizes)! That included several of the ones we have been discussing recently...so if you can't wait for that trade they still have Chocolate Ecstasy, English Charm, Cantina, Coral Chalice, ...and too many to remember! But I'm warning you, plan to spend a long time if you choose to venture onto that website!!! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Have Fun!

Marilyn - I can wait until next year since I have quite a few still to plant.

C & T have a very large variety, BUT I got a mixed bag of rhizomes from them. The talls were fine, but the dwarfs and IB's were small and very dry. I am hoping they survive. They do have some new growth but I hope they make it through the winter.

Well, the sun came out the temps went down, I was thinking maybe I could sneak out and mow the lawn later after feeding the horses. . . . Not! It's going to be raining again here shortly, more water, more wet, more mud! I don't think it will ever end. I have so much to do outside, and just can't because it's too wet and muddy. Sure need to find a way to move this to areas where it's needed.

Oh how I wish you could Tom...aside from a light sprinkle in July (only enough to make your car look horrible) we have not had rain since February or March...and only a little bit then! If I didn't irrigate (which is expensive) my entire landscape would be dying and sick! I would so love to feel and smell the rain again...so I'm sorry it's a problem for you...and equally sorry we have no way of spreading the 'water wealth'!

OK... no more long messages for me. This is the third time my message got dumped when I accidentally tried to make a change in the 'Preview' window...so I have to re-write everything!

Mary Ann- My avatar is Strawberry Frosting and it's my favorite of all the iris that bloomed last year. Unfortunately it's one of the ones that is still in a pot so I'm thinking of ordering another from Robin Shadlow of Iris Sisters just to be sure I get some blooms nest spring!

Leslie, Thanks for sharing your experience with C and T so everyone can beware. I ordered a few TBs from them last year and they were fine...nothing to write home about...but I didn't order any of the smaller irises.

Speaking of being wary...last year at the end of the season I ordered about 6 rhizomes from some people going by the name of RN Gardens. They were showy older cultivars that I could not find anywhere else that late in the season. They were selling on eBay, and are no longer there but I found them still selling on Etsy. When the irises bloomed this spring I had several generic purple and yellow historics, one that might be Swingtown, and one that looks like Conjuration but without the horns (I have both of those cultivars). I found them on Facebook and messaged them. Instead of going on a rant, which would do no good, or simply complaining which would only be effective if they had had any intention of doing honest business which they obviously did not, I sent a message to the effect that what we put out in this world sooner or later comes back to us and that I prayed that God would soften their hearts. (I know...useless effort but I had to try something). Needless to say I never heard back from them. They are complete scammers! Uggh! Angry Thumbs down
