Zuzu, maybe you can still order it - it's worth a try.

I'm pretty sure my order has already been sent out. I usually receive it around the 20th of November.

Cindi: I've never lived anywhere with winters that have snowfall, so now I'm really confused. If you've got snow already and you're getting a shipment of bare root roses so soon, what do you do with them in the meantime ??? Plant them in containers and keep them indoors ?

Speaking of pink and yellow blends, I have one "Love and Peace" which I really really like. It's the only HT I have. Very fragrant and it actually likes it here.

My sister has a very nice "Claude Monet" which is also a nice pink and yellow blend, but more of a "striped" rose. I've never been able to find it locally.

Love & Peace is a great rose. You have to use an ampersand in the name, however, because Love and Peace is the name of a striped mini rose.

Rose (Rosa 'Love & Peace')

Rose (Rosa 'Love and Peace')

Claude Monet is really hard to find anywhere on this continent. Hortico used to carry it, but now it seems to be available only in Europe and New Zealand.

Very interesting thread, Margie. Thanks for posting that.

Zuzu: I had to go look up the definition of "ampersand". I never knew that a "&" had an actual name !
Does that make it a distant relative of a tilde ?

Palatine sent an email saying shipments are delayed until December 1 because of their deep snow and cold. We have the option of waiting until spring. Our snow here is gone now, in fact it was nice here today! (50's). Should I wait til spring? The weather between here and there may be extremely cold for a while. Not sure which is the greater evil, extreme cold or heat and wind in the spring.

Zuzu - Well, they *did* get a bit of snow.. just a tad bit.. when I lived in NNY (the other section of NY that got hit.. between Canada & Syracuse), we would get snow but not 6' at a time. I think the worst I've ever seen at one 24 hour period was actually here in Colorado where we got close to 3' at once. Practically shut down the city for 3 days. That was in '03.

Every time a delivery arrives from Palatine, I'm amazed all over again by the superiority of this nursery.
