Yeah, after looking more closely, I don't think so either. But it DOES have "Irish" in one of the common names.
Hey, what about this? http://www.glasshouseworks.com...

I think you nailed it, Woofie. That sounds and looks like it. Most of my friends who had it were in the horticulture business and had very old plants. I'm not surprised that it faded away because it needed extreme humidity. I had it when I lived in the Marshall Islands. Even with the constant moist island air, I still had to mist it. If I didn't mist for a day or two, the tips turned brown. Itwas such a lovely green when it was happy!
It isn't the best photo, and I've looked and for some reason I can't find any more photos. I guess I'll add it and they can kick it out if it's not up to the standards.
It absolutely hated an air conditioned house. I had to keep it outside in shade and mist continually.
It is an outstanding plant for anyone who wants another child to care for! Keeping it happy was a huge commitment.
Well, I think a less than great photo is better than none at all. AND it should trigger a link to this thread in the database, so that other people can learn a bit about it's care and feeding and foibles.

I see we have a place for it in our database, but I checked the Catalogue of Life, and they don't list it. Does that mean it's not accepted? http://www.catalogueoflife.org...
Hmmmmm. Well, if you look a bit farther in our database, there are a lot of Nephrolepsis exaltata varieties that don't appear to be in the Catalogue of Life.

Lin, I've had the fluffy ruffles type. It was a lovely plant, but not as finely cut and not as beautiful as the other one. I did see that, Woofie. I'll go ahead and put it in, and the admin can do what they want with it.
The CoL doesn't list cultivar's only Genus, species. I think there are probably many other cultivars of N. exaltata than what are shown in our database. http://garden.org/plants/searc...
I agree with woofie, we don't have any photos at the entry for Fern (Nephrolepis exaltata 'Verona') so if you are certain that your plant is 'Verona' you should add a few pic's!

Hey, Karen, your photo is now showing up in the database, but there's no link to this thread. Could you go back and associate that photo in the thread with the database? (Assuming you can do that with your own photo??)

I'm curious how to associate a photo in the database to a thread. I know we can associate a photo that we see in a thread to the database entry for the particular plant but I didn't realize that we could do the reverse. I'll be watching to hear how to do it.

Lin, the only way I know to do it is by clicking on the photo and using the "associate this with a plant in the database" feature. But Karen has that disabled for her photos and I'm not sure if you can do that with a photo you yourself have posted in a thread. We may have to ask someone in Admin to do it.
