Great shots Deb, I love the Loon and nice shot of the gulls on the rocks too! We have resident sea gulls here too but not Loons. I say my first ever Loon on the Saint Lawrence Waterway when we were on vacation a year or so ago ... gorgeous birds!

Thanks. I tried to more closely ID the gulls, but as it turns out we have at least 3 common species that are quite similar in appearance which also hybridize together, so I'll just go with seagull. Noisy buggers but important part of the ecosystem.

Only bird picture I got today is a single dove

A few minutes later I was looking out the window and spotted this critter after the birdseed. So unusual to see Raccoons during the daylight hours since they are nocturnal but I guess this one was hungry.

Thanks, I thought I'd change it to my furry little backyard visitor for a couple of days. I'm all ears!

We went to the air show on the beach yesterday (I posted photo's in the Sandbox forum if anyone is interested in pictures of airplanes) and there were Ospreys flying along the beach for awhile ... I got a picture of one of them:

"It's tough being a very large, hungry goanna."

The birds all herded him away. It took at least 10 minutes of them fiercely displaying at him before he finally left (last photo). He is a 4-foot Lace Monitor lizard.
