Bonnie, if you down load the catalog, look up Bahama Blues! I think you'll like it. Or just look in the data base.

I love Bahama Blues! That one was already on my wish list...which seems to be growing faster than my irises! I blame all of you for that! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! (It couldn't be that I am greedy, lack control, or possess any other negative quality! Angel )

Oh my, all of them are nice nice nice. Peal of Bells and Absolute Cute would be my first choices.

Boys - if you leave for Australia now, some of the iris will be in bloom there! It is spring there afterall!

Well, I had down loaded it a while back and looked at it a while, so I've seen all of the new ones. Of course I'll keep looking at them until I decide which ones I want. Whistling

I got Cross My Heart this year, and I got Make Mine Magic the year before, but almost lost it to rot. It has one rhizome that made it though, so I hope it makes it next year to bloom.

A few people have asked about getting a permit to import, so I thought I'd just add it here for those of you who want to do that. The permit to import is easy to get. You can go on line to the USDA website at http://www.aphis.usda.gov After you get on the site, on the right side you will see "apply for permit" follow that link and apply for a PPQ permit. You can either fill out the form on line, or you can print it and send it. You can also call them at (301)734-8758 It takes about 6 weeks to get it, and it's free. You then will have to send a copy of the permit to the vendor to include in the mailing. They keep it on file for future years, they are good for about 3 years. It is now required, so you will need one to import. Tempo Two ships here in late March and Early April.

I wanted to look into the USDA process for importation. Thanks Tom for providing the website link.
The permit you need appears to be:

PPQ 587 - Application for permit to import plants or plant products

I tried doing the online registration...it is very involved to set up an online account and I will have to take my government issued ID to the local USDA office to verify who I am to activate my account. I may still do it because I can't print the form at home (broken printer)...but I'm thinking for anyone else it may be easier to print and mail the application...or call the phone number.

If you do try it...let us know how it works out. Thanks!

I think I ended up just printing the form and sending it in, as it was a bit complicated to do on line if I remember. Marilyn, you can save it to a thumb drive and take it to a friends house who has a working printer and print it, or the library or Kinko's. Smiling

Yes Tom...that may be what I decide to do. The on-line process (which is normally easier) is certainly complicated...and probably not worth the effort. Leave it to the government to take something that could save time and money and make it more difficult than the original paper shuffling/snail mail method! But I'm almost there...and curious to see how it works...not to mention just a wee bit stubborn! Hilarious! Hilarious! (...or maybe that should be stupid?) Anyway, I highly recommend that if anyone else wants to try it...go the paper route!
