And are they ever pretty, too! I like all those buds on the Lou Sneary 'Blue Bird'. That's going to perfume your greenhouse for weeks and weeks!

I agree Very nice Phal there, Melissa. As for perfume in the OC, I have nodosa and Little Stars working for me now.

How nice, Jim. I love that scent, I was happy to discover my Little Stars budding too.

Here is another nice "scenter" right now, Blc Chia Lin 'New City' opened a couple of blooms.

That Brassokeria looks like something I would grow but I've never seen it before. I need more research. Isn't Chia Lin special? What a great orchid. Thumbs up

Jim, this Brassokeria is Brassavola nodosa x Barkeria melanocaulon, and I can see why you would like it! I was intrigued, when I bought it, since I have the Barkeria melanocaulon.

Spent 2 1/2 hours today inspecting, spraying, and trimming. Had to toss a couple of plants that just refused to thrive and kept getting the scale. I had given them 2+ years to try to grow, but I just got sick of the constant grow/die/grow/bugs/die. So I tossed them in the rocket mass heater and they became fuel. Whistling nodding

Now all of the orchids get the threat of RMH fuel unless they stay healthy and grow.

Hey, Bert, that should get those "troublesome" orchids to take notice. Grow healthy or its the RMH for you! Whistling

Are you freezing up there like I am down here in Starkville? I have 42 orchid plants waiting to ship (and have been for almost two weeks) and I still don't see a window of opportunity to ship them. What a bummer! Sticking tongue out

You surely mean Melissa, right?
I am starting to do the same, toss some plants which simply don't thrive and make room for those which do perform.

Yep, I went brain-dead again. *Blush* When Bert makes her move (soon) to Mississippi I won't continue to get them mixed up! I know they are both in Memphis and that seems to throw me for some reason. You don't think it is age-related, do you? Whistling Thanks, Ursula. Sorry, Melissa.

Another one for identification. It started blooming yesterday. It should be a Dendrobium? The fronds are about 3 feet long.

I could have put these in "I just bought" thread, but the flowers are so nice . . . just can't resist adding to my Spathoglottis collection when Lowe's has them blooming in gallon pots for $7.

More blooms on the tiny Epi. magnoliae. It drew my attention by the scent - they smell like gardenias!

Glen, that's surely a Dendrobium, but I don't know what variety.

Elaine, I wish I had success with my Spath. plants, but alas, they have been a bust for me. I have a couple hanging on, but there's been little growth and certainly nothing close to flowering. I have never seen them offered in our Lowe's.

Glen, I just looked through some Dendrobiums, I couldn't venture a guess as to which one. It is really nice and showy on those long canes!
But I will look some more.

Elaine, that little Epi is adorable.

That's a gorgeous Den, Glen.

Ken, I think one thing with Spaths is they like to be crowded to bloom well. Whenever I've divided them and not left a tight clump, they've taken a couple of years to stop pouting and clump up to bloom again.

If you have any left try potting a bunch of them together in a big pot next spring, and let them proliferate under your oak trees through the summer. Mine get morning sun and consistent water. Jim has pretty great success with his, and he leaves them out through the winter, too, which I know you can't do. But they take temps down into the 40's just fine, it seems.

I have a few that are anything but crowded. How about 4 leaves (total) on each of them. They are sad. They are each in 6" pots (I thought they needed the room to expand). Sticking tongue out I think I will just put them all in a 6" pot. They will either survive in the GH or not.

Thanks for the advice.

P. S. Can y'all send me some warm weather? I have got to get these orchids shipped! Grumbling
