It has come to my attention that a member of ATP actually names her garden rocks!

After thoughtful consideration, I concluded that it's a great idea.

Who knows, if it goes viral, Dave might create a new rock forum.

So, here is my first attempt (photo). I have named him Boulder Dan.

That picture you saw that had the rock, it was the mum named Fred Stone in front of the rock. I don't really name my rocks.

But now I think you know that and are just joshing me

Still, I think I am going to start naming my rocks. It will be good for referencing what is planted near which one. But I'm gonna need A LOT of names!!

How about Rock Hudson, Chris Rock, Kid Rock, then come all the Stone names.

I do it with stones! Consider us all a bit rocky! All of my Japanese irises have stones with the name on them. Looks better than the graveyard look with metal signs!

This is making me miss the rocks I've left behind, particularly this one which is called Frog Rock.

That's a wonderful thing to do, naming your rocks. I have some favorite rocks, but I have only called them by there proper name. Y'all are real creative with your names.
This is called crocodile jasper, it comes from Madagascar, where a lot of my favorite caudiciform Euphorbia come from.
How about the name Madi Orbs?

After a long New England residence, I have taken up the habit of naming my rocks. Regretably this is a "G" rated group of forums, so I can not give out any of the names I have given my rocks...

I'm with Tom (Coppice) -- we have plenty of rocks here, thanks to the ancient glaciers... I mostly call them #$%^&&** !!

(pretty sure I could have built another house with the rocks we took out of out garden area over the last 20 year)
