Every time I see that name it makes me think of Dipping Dots ice cream.

Dippin' Dots was born right here in Paducah, Kentucky. When they opened their new plant here, I did all the framing of artwork and photographs for their offices. And I was invited to attend their grand opening. Kinda cool beans..................

Oh -- I did, Marilyn. Owned and operated that business for eighteen years. It was also an art gallery, and a Thomas Kinkade gallery. Closed the business and retired six or seven years ago.

I didn't know that. I think that would have been a lovely way to make a living...but I'm sure you were glad to retire and move on so you could spend more time with your irises!

Nice Mary Ann! I always enjoy the play of the light and color Kinkade did in his artworks.

I'm a little fuzzy around the edges this morning.. oh wait, it's afternoon.. Well that's what happens when you get up at the crack of noon..Some sort of time warp differential with getting to sleep at 3..

Thanks Everybody glad you guys are enjoying Paul's flowers he has had some real beauties over the years and I have always enjoyed his plants you couldn't find a more friendly guy to seek out for advice in the garden. He has really helped me through out the years and I look forward to seeing him whenever we visit Oregon always fun to see what he is working on and Learn. Here is another bunch with more to come

I just ran across Bashful Princess today. Now I have to remember where! I am definitely going to be dreaming iris tonight after looking at them all day.
Magic Masquerade is going to have to go on our list Mary Ann. Seems we have a red theme going. The Princess would be nice. I need a pink or two.

Now, why does that luscious first photograph of Bashful Princess look to me like the best kind of smooth, creamy fondant?

Beautiful photographs Brad! I just had to look a few of them up...don't know which ones I'll add but I especially like Magic Masquerade. I will also mention that Stolen Sweets was gorgeous at Superstition last year...it sold out early, so I bought it from Iris Sisters. Better Than Butter blooms like crazy but the branching is kind of long and leggy...not my favorite. I really like Passionate Kisses and it's child Clouds Go By....can't decide between them...maybe I need to see them in person?

Fly Your Colors is really interesting with that orangey reverse color! Of course I LOVE Bashful Princess. The name "Gaudy is Good" appeals to me even more than the flower- it should be my motto! LOL

Oh, I so agree, Neal! Life is short, you can only spend it once so why live in a gray world? I try to conform but it is soooo difficult sometimes. The best compliment I think I have ever received was from my daughter-in-law. Some of my son's friends had been to my house and later that evening when out to dinner (I did not go with them) the friends asked my DIL 'so, is your MIL a hippy?' she hesitated then said 'no, but she is a free spirit'. I love it.
