I have a theory that if California gets heavy rain early, we have a dry winter.

It's raining a lot up here. Drove to the next big town, Ukiah, about 45 minutes away, and there was a lot of rain on the winding road there. Small boulders falling off the hills. We're having Weather!

I'm just thankful it isn't the kind of weather that the east coast is getting, Bonnie. Those poor folks keep having to dig out from under banks of snow.

We're close to two feet of snow here and the lake effect snow machine is going again. Having a heat wave. It's up to 26 degrees Breaking out the snowmobiles after deer hunting season is over.

Interesting that you're getting a lot of rain, and we're not, Jan.. The weather radar last night showed the system coming from the Southwest. I forgot to empty the rain gauge, so I'm not sure how much we've gotten... but not much.. It was dry enough for me to be out digging.. soil was just wet about the top quarter inch. Just enough wet to make people run into, and off of things on the mountain roads here. Every year, it's the same....

I don't know what the inches are yet, Sherry - and the rain's fairly intermittent, but the ground is soaked.
We have a long way to go though to make up for the drought!

We were only getting light rain here, not even enough to get mud on your shoes.

I hope we get a lot of rain this year, but as Tom said....not all at once.
