Don't bother with Skagit Gardens (meh) but do go to Christianson's which is smack in the middle of the tulip flats.

The plan right now is looking like taking 16 days, heading out on last Friday in April. Probably driving. Heading to CA first. Up to Oregon, i want to hit that big plant sale. Hit WA last. Start driving back May 12. So right now those are the general outter parameters.

Thank you all for your help and links!! Very appreciated.

We're only about 40 miles north of Spokane for your return trip, so if you need somewhere to off-load any excess purchases...... Big Grin

Jennifer your trip will be such an adventure. My husband and I did that a couple years ago, visiting 9 states. I will never forget it.

Certainly is a lot of good information here. But it would probably make an even better sticky AFTER the trip! Smiling

I'm curious about the rebirth of Heronswood. Has anyone been there since it was revived in 2012 after the Burpee fiasco?

It was the most amazing place to spend a day. A day was not enough.

Hurray! We will make sure to schedule some time for it.

I've been checking out the websites everyone has provided and checking the map to see how all these places relate to each other distance wise. I can already see there just won't be enough time!! Driving out will take four days. If we flew that would give us valuable extra time to visit places. But then of course we have the extra expense of renting a vehicle for two whole weeks. That cuts into plant purchases! Grrrr, so many factors to process.

I realized I was wrong on the weekend of the Clackamas County Master Gardener Plant sale. In 2016 it looks like it will be April 30th and May 1st. So we'll have to leave April 22nd and start driving back May 5th, if we hit California first.

There is soooo much great stuff packed in around Portland and Seattle that it may be prudent to cut the California portion of the trip simply to give more quality time. It would be a shame to rush things just for the sake of packing more stuff in. Sorry Bev! But no decisions just yet. A year and a half can change lots of stuff!

Don't worry about it Jennifer Smiling When you mentioned the four day drive or the rental of the car (after paying for airfare) and possible cut of plant purchases...I really thought sacrifices would have to be considered. Well CA isn't going anywhere...and yes, a year and a half is enough time for anything to shift.

This looks like a great sale too. Lynn have you been to this. I may try to go this year. If I do will report back. Over 100 nurseries. When is that clinic?

Says no strollers or wagons. Weird, how are you supposed to carry all your purchases?
