I got 'Mulled Wine' after I had admired it in a friend's garden several years ago. It's a good color that works well with other plants.

Mulled Wine is pretty. I was looking at my 'Jazzy Razzy' and the color is very similar. Lo and behold, Mulled Wine is in the genetics.
Here is a pic of Jazzy Razzy... the horns were short this year and my camera makes it look a little darker than it is.

There are a few that I may no longer have. Some of my irises had those awful white plastic plant markers that disintegrated over the years. I've added about a dozen of Keith's this year.
Not only is he a great hybridizer, but he is a great grower.
Last week I got a delivery from him that included this one, Foreign Agent, and it was a double!

Evelyn, the iris beds are in gardens near the house.Maybe an acre or less devoted to them.

I confess that while I think of daylilies in terms of hybridizers (and flower size and form), I still don't think of irises that way. I don't really have time to work on the list, but here are some (maybe most?) of them:

Marilyn, those are beauties. I was sad that I didn't order Adriatic Noble - how gorgeous is that! - but I just realized that I did get a sibling of it - Royalty Remembered - back in the winter when I had more money. Keith let Robin introduce it, and it's supposed to be a re-bloomer. She donates a portion of the sales to a reblooming organization. I also have the parents of these two - Adriatic Waves and Noble Gesture, and I have just moved some of their increases into a better bed. They were planted several years ago and the bed they are in is depleted. I've loved Noble Gesture a lot. I'm beginning to see the sometimes subtle differences, the improvements, that the hybridizers make.

Speaking of Keith's irises, I think Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Montmartre') won the Dykes Medal this year.
