Huh, Jamie, that is interesting. As I said, first year for me, so no grapes this year. It looks like you're in about the same zone as me. I don't know that I'll be able to wait, as I said I have to move them about 8 feet to the west so they are not on the receiving end of the snow that dumps off the roof. Maybe I can keep them mostly intact and then prune later.

Christine, your views and property are just stunning! Lucky you!

And this from my son, Dahlia: From the keyboard, hit the button at the bottom left with ".?123" on it. Tgat takes you to the numerical/symbol keyboard and the apostrophe is on the 2nd row up on the righthand side. :)

Good luck!

I just heard today that one I was put forth for didn't pan out - someone else got offered the job. I haven't heard anything about a 2nd interview for the one I interviewed for on Aug 30th. They will need a 2nd interview for the short listed ones.

I'm beginning to think that they just don't want to hire anyone who might know more or be smarter than the existing supervisors and bosses. They don't like people who can think and problem solve on their own. They want someone who will be a pawn, who they can train to be a puppet. ( Don't know if this true, but it sure makes me feel better thinking that when I get turned down Hilarious! )

Oh Boy do I hear you, Cheri & Sandi - I'm 57 and have an Office Administrator Diploma, plus the years put in, and the drive to get things done right the first time. I'm a "company person" and a perfectionist. I don't mind staying until 9pm to get the job done, when it's needed.
But, people are intimidated by me, and I guess I'm a strong personality........ Rolling on the floor laughing Blinking Rolling my eyes. Whistling

Sandi & Susan --- you are both exactly right. They want lemmings not leaders.

Susan: 25 some years ago when I moved here, I was having trouble finding a job. I kept hearing, "over-qualified". As painful as it seemed at the time, I downgraded my resume, understated my qualifications, got real 'humble' and was hired into the firm (as an assistant in the scheduling departmen) through which I eventually became high upper management over it and 5 other departments. Once in, my skills began to be recognized, I quietly bacame the 'go to' person (even for the owner). Sometimes creeping in the backdoor works. Ann is almost right: They THINK they want lemmings until they need trusted organizers with genuine people skills.

I wish you the best.

I've been applying for jobs paying less and less hours, hoping that would get me in, but even that isn't working.

I think you are onto some thing with that statement -- I was onced forced out of a company by a woman who was intimidated by thsoe of use that knew more that she. She was not a very nice person! However, it was a blessing for me cause I moved onto to a much better job!! Hurray!
