Hey a'corns is bettern' money!
I don't know, when I 'volunteered' with March of Dimes, they ended up making a nice offer. I think you just have to be clear about why you're doing it and what you want.

I agree, Jamie - if precise limits are stated up front, then you know where you stand. I can tell them that "these are my terms" and if they and I are reasonable, then we shouldn't have any problems.

Jamie, not I don't think I know your Marg. "Je Suis Désolé." What is it that you are sorry for? Please explain the significance of the eastbound train.
Looking forward to getting to know some new friends here, as well as reacquaint with some familiar ones.

No secret. I have long been in love with the world's best living guitarist, composer, and poet of subtle humour; a most intellegent man, Mark Knopfler. Eastbound Train was one of his earlier songs, and Je Suis Désolé somewhat later, translates most literally to: "Forgive me but I had no choice."
Very interesting Jamie. Thanks for showing us those clips. I think I last saw him on Letterman. In love with him, eh? I don't suppose he knows that? He's only on his third wife. Ya never know....

Yes, it's discouraging, rich men can afford what they want and Kitty is very slick. Oh well. He has the utmost respect for her as is part of his nature to all. I just have to enjoy that his intensity extends boundaries.

I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown

Hi echoes - reacquaint with me, k?
How are you lately? It's been about a month since we talked last.
I'll see about giving you a call tomorrow, k? Have to bring you "up to speed" doncha know?
Say, did you get frost in Manitoba?

Frost in Manitoba last night for sure. It's 30F right now. Old Charles and the hibiscus made it into the house for one more winter, but I think the brug has to go. My plumerias are in the barn for now, but not sure I want to keep them anymore either. Picked the tomatoes last night, and moved a few geraniums in, along with the houseplants that were in the greenhouse. I'm pretty much done.
We're getting real close to being done here too. We've had 2 frosts so far, but I keep covering the maters and such. Did bring in some of the potted plants last night, tho, even some big pots with petunias, but that's cuz I need them for a wedding this weekend. Need my purple glads for that too, but can't bring them in, so just hoping they survive 'til Saturday

Two frosts ALREADY? Oh I'm so not ready for that, but it is in our forecast for tomorrow and Friday. I cleaned the sun room out, and brought in a few things., Cut back a bunch of my brugs. I have to spray them yet and repot some then they all can come in. Better get to it also. I don't like being rushed through my fall cycle here. Wish the weather would just cooperate.

I haven't brought anything in yet but am vacillating around close. It IS getting cool. My furnace punked a couple of weeks ago and gets fixed tomorrow thank goodness. My hands are so cold right now that I can hardly type. Wth such a late spring, it seems like we hardly had any summer this year at all. I'm expecting (and hoping for) a warming up for the autumn. Sure not ready to bring the outdoor plants in yet! The leaves haven't even started to turn.

Mark's REAL Christine. I was just on the wrong train.
Hey does any-buddy else have a big wait for this thread/forum to load? Takes forever for me and I wrote Dave about it but he just told me to change my browser. I won't do that because my browser (IE) works everywhere else just fine and quick (even cubits) and I don't want to have to refind all my tools and Favs and stuff.
