Nice blooms, MJ. It is good to see you posting again.
My Neostylis Lou Sneary 'Blue Bird' has also become a Vanda when no one was looking. Anyone wanting to grow a small Vanda that is easy to bloom should try this one.

I don't, Melanie!
If you are showing your plants, you need to know the new names, but us mere mortals can be happy with the old and comfy names. Thank you to Jim for keeping us up to date.
While I am waiting on the so called 'Janet' to open two more spikes, I thought I show the whole plant. The growths are very tight in that small wooden basket and spilling over. Lots of roots!
And Bc Princess Teresa 'Princess Michiko' opens more blooms on the other side of the basket. This one has a very pretty scent, reminiscent of lightly perfumed body powder.
This is one of my favourite orchids, the specie, cymbidium lowianum. It has huge arching spikes and makes a superb specimen plant.(don't forget I'm in Australia, so this is summer flowering).

Oh wow Ursula....that orchid just looks so natural and happy with its tangle of thick healthy roots hanging down...I love seeing orchids (and all epiphytes) growing as they evolved to grow...that is just spectacular! Seeing them bound up in pots smothered in sphagnum moss seems so unnatural. I love the freedom of an orchid breaking out of its basket and stretching its legs. Thanks for sharing!

My buying shoes are all polished up and ready to go. I'm off to meet Elaine for a fun day of orchid shopping in Apopka. The weather looks perfect. We will have a full report at the end of the day.
