When I think of some of Joe's Best, the collection is not complete with out showing the White's and Cream's. It's funny years ago I grew very little in these colors the darker ones always attracted me probably because there are so few true Blue and dark purples in other flowers at least those that grow well here in my frozen Tundra.
I think what changed my mind was one of our early trips to Oregon, I saw a clump of White blooming at Schreiner's and I went Wow of all the other colors it stood out in the garden. I now grow lot's of them and My Favorite is (My Beloved )it is the Perfect name for the Perfect Plant and is proving to be a amazing parent for Joe with his Bubble Ruffles form. This one has been wonderful grower here at home and was one of the few that actually bloomed for me this year.
My Beloved
A couple garden pictures to show How it looks mixed with all the other colors.
My Beloved has produced some wonderful kids in different colors and shades. I have been using it on everything hoping to get plants with the same growth and form in a wide range of colors and patterns. Here are some pictures of it's kids can't wait to see what else comes from this one the other 2 Civility and Enjoyment are above.
Beauty Within
Otherside Of Heaven
Vow Of Silence
My Lady's Manor ( This was introduced from Phillp and Kieth but came from My Beloved)
Brad, Did you maybe switch the names of Beauty Within, and Other Side of Heaven? Awesome Pictures for sure. My Beloved looks so nice next to that dark Burgandy/red one in the last garden shot on the left side. What's the name of that dark Burgandy/red one in that shot? Love them together.

Tom the red one is Iconic... The names are right on the other 2, Other side of Heaven was photo'd at Napa's and looked more pink than when I saw it in Oregon it is another one I am looking forward to seeing it bloom here at home curious if it will be pink or creme either way I like it. The Beauty Within pictures were taken here and in Oregon I think the color was pretty close in both climates. I thought the one with the most difference up close was Vow Of Silence the 1st picture is from Schreiner's they were growing it in a convention Bed and the other was from Joe's so it is another one that will have to see what it does here. I think you need to meet me out there this spring we can look at them together
Great, I have Iconic, and I think I have it planted right near My Beloved. I'll have to check, I hope so. Yup, I have them next to one another, Iconic on one side of it, and Aristocracy
on the other.
I would love to go out West this spring and see all the gardens in bloom, but if I do that I'd have to cut way back in my iris purchases to cover the cost. If I could sell a bunch of horses that would make it much easier. It sure would be fun. I'd probably wonder around like a star struck idiot looking at all those flowers. Maybe I could take a tent and just camp out in the iris field. I might never want to come home.

I have visions of Tom wandering aimlessly amid acres of irises, having lost his will to do anything but gaze at the beauty. Lost in his own world... not a bad way to live...
Leslie - I love the cat painting you are using for your avatar!!! Are those your kitties, or is it just a painting you like?
I agree with you Deb...maybe we could start a list of names for Tom Burseen....
Razzing Rob
Wandering Tom
Commando Tutu
Haha! I am sure if Burseen read our posts he would have some VERY interesting names for each of our irises!
Mairlyn - those are my kitties, Shortstop (on left) and Sawyer (my sweet Maine Coon). Here is the larger version of that picture: Open up for full shot.

Tom I do it every year we go wonder around trying to take it all in it is definitely Overload to the senses nothing like seeing 200 acres in full bloom it is a great feeling to get lost in a field of Iris :big grin: Hard to concentrate on just one and gives you a complete different look at the flower when you see 10,000 blooms all at once I normally start my days off here in the fields before anyone else is moving it is fun to have this all to yourself and your right it is Hard to come back home you can spend weeks walking these fields and that whole area and see something different everyday not to mention all the other nurseries they have there. This will be the year to see it with the convention all the display gardens will be 2 and 3 yr plantings should be Awesome.
It is Schreiner's fields 3 different ones but not the place for wine to much to see there and it gets busy with there workers I would pick there display gardens for the Wine tasting it is a good place to grab some shade and relax and still a lot to see.
