yes, I agree Neal, the weary, dreary days of winter. And the photos on here, along with the iris fellowship, is better than a bouquet in the house because we are all sharing it.

If we have enough to get us to the openings of the iris websites with new intro, we'll have lots to gab about when that happens, plus we'll be thinning down our lists to doable lists.

Exactly! And then when you consider all the busy-ness around the holidays (I always travel to see my elderly parents and I'm sure others of you have plans of some sort) the time should go by quickly!

One other hybridizer I've really taken a liking to is Marky Smith. I hope we can include her is our discussions!

Anita has an Iris named after her! Wonderful! I hosted an historic Iris swap a few years ago, and she sent multiple boxes, having just thinned many clumps, and knowing she wouldn't get as many varieties in return, but just wanted to share the goodies with fellow enthusiasts. Thanks to Anita, everyone received so much more than anticipated. And what a beauty -love that white beard against the bright violet flash!

It is especially great to spread historic iris around. She also works with arilbreds in MD. The Spoons will name seedlings after people who like them.
