I have lots of 'discoveries' from moving all the orchids out of the bathroom to clean yesterday. Phew, glad that is over with. My little Den. aggregatum has three spikes, and I always miss them because they are such fine little stems.

Absolutely thrilled that my Rencha Frances Fox has a spike with two nice buds coming along. This plant put up exactly one new growth in the year I've had it, so I guess it really likes it's winter spa vacation in the bathroom.

A little orphan orchid Blc. Blazing Treat has a big new growth and a spike, should be a nice bright orange/red flower.

Last and most exciting, Sedirea japonica with a little spike about an inch long!

We got the ice storm last night and today. Still coming down. GH is holding at ~59F. We have the faucets dripping. Brrr...I hope this is the final blast of winter.

This Winter seems to top the most miserable cold Winter we had last year! It just doesn't quit. It is great how your greenhouse is faring under these conditions.
I am keeping my eye on the Oil tank level, it was 0 degr F this morning, but at least the terrible cold wind has died down. Snow tonight, a few more 0 degr nights and maybe the weather starts breaking by the weekend, keeping fingers crossed.

Melissa, our forecast was the same as what y'all are getting, but yesterday it was changed to just a lot of rain. I see that our Friday forecast is for snow, sleet, freezing rain, and just rain. The Weather Channel calls it a "Wintery Mix". I assume you will see the same at the end of the week.

I made it out the GH today and discovered 2 buds on my Den sulcatum and a bunch of buds on my Den aphyllum! I am so excited! Both are somewhat challenging to grow and this will be my first blooming of both.

Apparently my GH is perfect for Dendrobiums! I just love them! Lovey dubby

The weather here has been perfect for working in the garden but all that is about to change. They are calling for rain today ahead of a cold front that will drop temps down to 36 degrees on Thursday night. We have company coming in tomorrow from northern Indiana so it has been a busy week. I will try to keep up with you folks but forgive me if I lag a bit behind.

I would be very happy!! That is a happy plant!
It is too early for aggregatum and lindleyi here to show any signs of spikes.

I have an old standard got from Hauserman orchids several years ago, blooms every year. I did not order it, I told them to send me something that blooms religiously.

What's the flower like, Bert. Any pictures of when it previously was in bloom?

While it is bitter cold outside, inside the greenhouse it is toasty. My Lc FireDance 'Patricia' is breaking through the sheaths, Lc Rojo has four nice spikes in development, the Phrag kovachii hybrids are budding and Den nobiles look promising.

Ken, can't find any yet of Lucille. It may be because I just learned how to take pic and upload them from Ursula last year when I joined this site.
