Some of them came from a Canadian seller, so phyto charges add to the cost. When possible a few people combine orders so the cost is shared. It is just one flat fee. While you guys were planting semp seeds I got 26 batches of lily seeds started. Many are my own crosses, some from a seed exchange and some donated from fellow lily lovers. I even did a did a trade from Australia!

Connie those are amazing lilies! A sedum chair would be lovely - you're right it would add something for the whole bed!
Hurray!

I took a few sedum photos the other day, all in my backyard. This is my unknown sedum that I planted in the accent garden to flow between the rocks. I think Lynn told me what it was once upon a time but silly me, I should have made a label right then and there. The grape hyacinths grow right through it and Semp 'Black' doesn't mind it at all. I think the sedum helps keep the semp from being too wet, perfect partners.

I have posted this sedum growing in this fountain before, now you can see it has taken over even more space. I love it!

Some Ogon that has returned and semp Emerald Empress, happy as can be growing directly in my clay soil. I really think that many semps do okay without special efforts taken to increase drainage when there are companion plants close by.

Those lilies are beautiful Connie. Are they scented?
And now I can't remember the name of that sedum. *Blush*

I finally found one of the sedums on my wish list Moon Shadow. Hurray! Will be exciting to watch the color changes this growing season. When she grows out will be willing to trade cuttings if anyone is interested.

It may take a bit for it to show up in the database Linda. I wonder when it will turn that interesting shade of yellow?
You are sure finding some interesting sedum. The patent was applied for in 2010, but does not seem to have been completed.

It really is exciting when a new one comes out. And some of them are very different from anything else out there. Wonder what else new we will see this year? Green Grin!

Paddy, 'Cola Cola' is deciduous plant. It does die back in the winter.

I have H. cauticola, and it is a wonderful plant. I wonder how this one differs? There are a number of different H. cauticola in our database. http://garden.org/plants/searc...

Hylotelephium cauticola is the correct naming for all Sedum cauticola now.

Ok, lesson learned this past winter. Make sure to put extas of every sedum that is in a pot in the ground. Coral Reef potted dead but the one in the ground is alive. Same with Salsa Verde, Linear, Sieboldii variegated. Lots of rain and 0 degree weather done them in. Sad

What a bummer. It makes me so sad to hear you lost that gorgeous container of 'Coral Reef'. Sad
Your Sieboldii variegated might still come out of dormancy. It is one that comes out late for me.
Salsa Verde is one of the S. makinoi sedum. I don't seem to do to well with them in the ground or in pots. But what beautiful plants they are.

I am finding that some just don't do well for me in containers over the winter. I have been experimenting with planting them in sandy loam and so far they are doing better in less sun, about 1/2 day.

I ended up getting a new 'Ogon' to try for the third time. This time I planted it in bright shade, in amended soil that will hold some moisture in the drought season.

I had already bought another Coral Reef before I found some growing up next to the rock outlined bed.
Now a question, do all sedum "come true" from seeds? Or must you hand pollinate X to Z . Or are new varieties "sports"? Thank You! Group hug
