Good Impression

Oh boy, there are some really nice ones in this thread. Golliwog, Get Jiggy, Getting Airborne and I love Go for Baroque with the reddish brown on the reverse of the sepals. Other images in the database show dark buds with the light yellow blooms, I can just imagine how pretty this one is growing in a clump.

Char, I don't grow any of Lee Pickles grooved dls but I did visit his place a few yrs ago. My DH was sent on a business trip to the Chattanooga area. Fun times. I would love to go the Midwinter Symposium there next month but I will not be attending.

Oh wow, so many beauties! I don't have very many "G". I have two that I may have pictures of next year though. Garden of Gethsemane and George Jets On.

Cindy posted 'Galaxy Explosion'. It rebloomed and the rebloom was more orange. That rebloom came during really hot temperatures under a fierce sun. The first flush of blooms looked like Cindy's photo. Other 'G's were:

'Grey Witch' which varied between a greyish color to near maroon depending on the weather.


and 'Green Arrow' which had stable color and wild, fun forms.

Galaxy Explosion also rebloomed for me last summer and the bloom color was exactly the same.

Probably was the heat (triple digits) and first year plant. I appreciated the rebloom no matter the color. They really weren't that far off. The rebloom stalks were shorter and weaker as well (had to be staked). Here's 'Galaxy Explosion' from August 16. In real life, they gave the impression of being more orange and the color had a dull finish which wasn't the case with the first run. I'm expecting an established plant to overcome some of that, but triple digit heat and Texas sun is tough so it may be a compromise .

Oh I can imagine the heat is rough on them. I have a fairly large clump of GE and really need to divide it.

These threads are making me want to trade for some new plants!!
