I know what you mean Teresa but I REALLY need to downsize some before I get some new plants. Hilarious!

I've been thinking of getting Green Rainbow for awhile but I am not sure how it would do in my climate.

On green rainbow it has so many buds (30+) that the scapes don't stand up very well!

Oh, that's a shame. It is such a pretty one. I wonder if it probably wouldn't have as many buds in my zone. I find that to be true on a lot of cultivars that come from the south.

It would be windy in Jones, OK, I think. Do you find high bud counts affected by the wind a lot? I'm in a windy location, so lower bud counts might turn out to be more of a good thing than not. Wind is always a 'work around' here. It's a really aggravating aspect in the attempt to grow things.

Very windy!
There are some high bud count daylilies that stand up fine.
Some that come to mind.
Pink Ambrosia 36 buds this year
Painted Palace 30+ buds
Tuscawilla Tigress 38 buds!
Heavenly Dragon Fire lots of buds.
And one of my toothy seedlings which has had 44 buds and it is 40 inches tall.
Most of the spiders with lots of buds don't stand up.

"Most of the spiders with lots of buds don't stand up."

Do you mean true spiders or does this include UFs and those that lean toward being a spider as well?
I'm pretty much assuming that most are grown with full sun, too. That's based on your location, so you can correct me if that isn't true.

I don't think in my climate that high bud count is affected by wind but I think it is the lack of a lot of hot weather. I purchased Maxfield Parrish because of its 50 bud count but it only gets about half that in my zone so maybe Green Rainbow would not produce a lot of buds here.

Most of our daylilies are grown in full sun.
Yes I meant spiders, UFs and the ones that are nearly spiders.

Cindy, I got "Green Rainbow" in a trade in 2013. It survived last winter, but I don't have a photo of it so I don't know if it even bloomed. I'll try to remember to let you know how it does this summer.

I often will trade for something that I think may be challenged by our climate.

I am affected by wind. I stay inside the house. I don't like to garden and be outside in a brisk wind, but that is just me!

I am so glad everyone is posting. It is chilly today and I am staying inside by a roaring fire enjoying the pics.
