I think I may have lost this to a gopher unless I potted it to salvage it and forgot the tag. Sad

J stands for Jewel Tone:

Love those pics of Inspired, really excited to see that one bloom!

Only Js I have are first year, but this is the one I'm most excited to see bloom, Jordan's Joy

And I will add SDB Jive

This one is a standout in a clump. A really nice color in early spring.

Jazz Festival. Two different years, different lighting makes it look almost like two different flowers.

Yes it does, Deb. I have Jazz Festival too -- mine is planted in light shade and looks mostly like your third picture.

Boy oh boy -- Japanese and Flattie Irises -- we're really getting some variety, aren't we? Green Grin!

Glad I could save you some distress Tom!! Hilarious! I've never seen Jeanne Clay Plank before -- gotta go to the database and check out the details.

Ditto for Jewel Tone and Jordan's Joy!!

Kent -- you can almost always spot a Blyth Iris without knowing the hybridizer, can 't you? That one's a beauty!! Lovey dubby

Bonnie -- that little guy must be gorgeous in a clump -- it's a beautiful bloom in singledom!! Thumbs up

Celia -- Jurassic Park is one that I keep thinking I need to get - and keep not getting! Every picture I see of it is wonderful. I'll be looking forward to your pictures this spring!!

lol. No one posted any "Japanese" type irises. The one posted by Calif Sue is a TB called "Japanesque". Maybe the hybridizer thought it looked similar to a JI and named it so. Smiling

OK -- My pick is my absolute favorite *J* Iris -- Jukebox Hero!!
Thumb of 2015-01-21/Muddymitts/6385cb

This 2003 Iris hybridized by Lauer not only has a beautiful form -- but the color is amazing -- pictures don't convey it well. It is an *electric* or *neon* shade of violet making it a stand-out in the garden. My third picture comes closer to being accurate for the color, than the first two. Additionally, it's a very vigorous Iris. I LOVES IT!!! Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

Beautiful picture of 'Just Crazy'. That's another one I've been eyeing. I have only a few J's and of those that have bloomed 'Jazz Band' is my favorite. It's a Keppel 2005. Definetly shows up in the bed!

I planted Jazz Band last summer. Now that I've seen several pics of it, I realize Schreiner's pic and description made the wide wine band look and sound more purple. I don't think I'm going to mind at all though, it still looks stunning to me.

Just Crazy is awesome, glad I added it last year. Greg, that Jargon is another nice one that I'm going to have to get. The list she just keeps growing! Smiling
Mary Ann, I knew you'd select Juke Box Hero! I love that one too, it grows so nice, and yes, I never have had a picture come close to it's actural color. I've used it in crosses for 2 years now, and it just doesn't seem to work. Sad

Nancy, the photo you posted of Jazz Band has almost the same colors in it as the one I posted a bit earlier in this thread named Jive. Bright color early in the spring is wonderful.

This one will brighten up your day!

Small warning on Jurassic Park. It is pretty and a large flower. It also blooms forever and spreads like a weed. I usually have extra rhizomes to re-home.
