I hate that it's actually like purple and it photographs pink...don't get me wrong, I would love it just the same if it was pink, but I've been playing around with the photo settings of my phone to no avail... Confused

Reddish/pinkish hues are always hard to capture at times, sometimes I manipulate the exposure settings before I hit the button or at times my mobile phone gets it better with the backlight function.

Nice flower, Ive!

And, FWIW, the color is purplish-red on my monitor, not pink. I've noticed colors vary depending whether I'm viewing the photo on my phone, on my laptop, or on my desktop monitor. Not sure which one gives the more accurate rendition of the photo!

Cora, if you put the purple one in nearly full shade when it forms buds next time, they might be an even darker purple. Lucky you!

I continued my repotting today. Two good ones, one of the younger adeniums with rot. Crying
Somehow, however it seems to be coming back without my help. Something similar happened to the one I posted blooming the other day. The bad part dried out all on its own and now it's blooming.

I uprooted it, and will set it aside to dry and wait and see... it looks bad, but little leaves are sprouting. Should I pursue or give up on it?

For me, I do not give up on a plant if it is showing still some life on it. As stressed as it is..it helps me understand better at times what it needs to further survive. I make it an ongoing experiment, while I also scout for another replacement. If experiment is successful yey! Big Grin It just depends how you look at it..some may think it is a waste of time..but as long as I see green..I see hope!

Beautiful blooms, Cora.

I am curious as what others do or if they have a similar addiction to these plants.
I find myself sitting here, wondering 'what am I going to do with all of my Adeniums'
varying from newly seeded to adult. Not as many as those that are fortunate to have outside all year round. Mine are inside and getting ready to make the move outside.
I cannot say No! to more seed when it comes available.
I keep giving them away. For some reason the numbers never subside.
Looking forward to blooming time.

What do these plants DO to us!!! I have so many that it takes forever to water them all! I came across a photo of a few years ago when my whole collection was five plants. I about fell over laughing.

Here's a photo of what's for sale here. Look quick, it'd sold by the next day. That's one Desert Rose in the middle of five rose roses. $35! Some people here are demented!

Melissa, That one in the middle (smaller pot). I would snap that one up.
I love the color and shape of the bloom.
