Marilyn, When she started having symptoms she would drink excessively and then have to uninate a lot. She started to loose weight even though she seemed to eat normally. Then she got so she couldn't make it through the night without asking to go out. Once she got regulated she put the weight back on as was doing great, but then started to drink a lot again, and couldn't make it through the night without having to go outside. She'll be 10 years old this spring, and my vet told me that most likely she will develop cataracts as that seems to be what happens to dogs with diabetes as they age.

Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.

Poor sweety! We do love our animals...they just steal our hearts!

I have a cat that is obese and I keep watching her for signs...I guess I don't have to worry unless she starts losing weight!

The radar looks pretty ominous on the East New England states. Hope you guys are tucked in and safe. Looks like central Calif. has a nice rain storm moving North.

We drove to Nashville yesterday for an appt. with the hub's cardiologist. It was cloudy and chilly, but dry all the way there and most of the way back. But driving into Kentucky late afternoon, ran into several sleet squalls. Ice crystals peppered the windshield and waves of dry ice crystals blew across the road -- but nothing stuck so there was no accumulation. It was very odd.

Yah -- same here, Bonnie. But those squalls yesterday were weird -- the sleet wasn't melting when it hit the ground -- the wind was blowing it off smooth surfaces (road) and into the grass in the parkway. Where it just dist-appeared!!!
