Does Sunday Gloves have good substance? I am looking for a nice, ruffled white with thick substance. Any suggestions?

Teresa, you have posed an interesting question about the whites. We grow five "whites" ( I am not including our NOID Single Somebody) and I think the one with the best substance and most ruffling is Snowflake Empress. However, if you check the ATP Plants Database, you will see that some of the photos have that pinkish tinge to the color, and that does happen here. Joan Senior does very well, do you have that one? It is the most white, BUT we have a daylily named Hazel Ballard that has never bloomed. This coming season will be the third year for it, and we are certainly hoping to finally see a flower. If you look up this one on ATP, there are no pictures. Use the AHS database and there is a lovely picture of it and it looks very white, but we all know that pictures can be very different. I love Sunday Gloves, but it had been growing in quite a bit of shade and this past fall, we moved it to a sunnier spot, and thus hope for more blooms. This one can have a yellow tinge to the color. One interesting fact about SG on the ATP Database is that it shows resistance to rust. Then there is Royal Frosting which has turned into a real winner for us for its very long bloom time. It has ruffling and can lean toward the yellow side. We have only had it this year, so we will be very interested to see if it does as well this year as last. It was one of the very last to bloom, had a couple of small blooms in November. If you use the data bases, that can be a guide for you and perhaps other people are growing Sunday Gloves that have comments to offer. Hope this helps you. Smiling

Here is one I just won from Doris tonight on her FB auctions. I had seen it this past summer in a clump and really liked it!

I agree Bob seems like Spacecoast do well in general.

Betty and Avedon, very nice blooms.
Speaking of Spacecoast daylilies. This one didn't bloom last year but it bloomed its first year here.

Mike, I just added Boundless Beauty last Fall. I have so many to look forward to this year. I was in downsizing mode and sold close to 100 cultivars but have added back a lot. I will give a report next season Hurray!

Just what is meant by deep clear yellow self? I would have taken that to be a definite bright clear yellow, but does it mean a transparent yellow, none of the database photos look yellow to me.

I have to agree Larry. None of the database photos match the description. There are so many photos posted that it makes me wonder if it's not a registration error that AHS or the hybridizer or both would have to correct.

None of the places I found selling it list it as yellow.
