All lovely, Ursula, including the foliage.

Melissa, my speciosum is staying as white as can be. This one is really a nice plant. I hope I get to show her.

Yes, Bert, I know. I belong to the other Tampa orchid club that meets closer to my house but I know folks who will be there and take notes for me. In fact, Melanie belongs to that club so maybe she can give us a play by play account right here on ATP. My club meets on Tuesday the 24th and the speaker will be Horticulturist Jerry Steele, who has been growing orchids for almost 50 years. Known as “The Orchid Guy”, Jerry was a long time manager/grower at Krull Smith and now has opened his own business - Jam Farm & Floral. Jerry's talk will be on Cattleya culture. Shoot, last month I was the speaker. Sticking tongue out

MJ, I think she meant to say Angraecums. I know that is what the talk will be on. Perhaps she meant Angraecoids which are Angraecum type orchids.

Angroids? Sounds like Angry Androids. Sorry, couldn't resist.

One of these days I need to join my local orchid group. I'd sure love to hear some of those talks. New spikes opening on my big NOID catt.

Mj, look at my post from yesterday, I included Angraecum distichum, although this is not your typical Angraecum. Think Darwin Orchid as a better example, Angraecum sesquipedale.

Well darn I saw that Angraecum distichum yesterday. It makes me think " a little " of Den anceps. White blooms are easier to see !

I saw the Angraecum sesquipedale when I googled the first time...which is why I said I probably shouldn't have done that....I like it. Rolling on the floor laughing

I agree, MJ. It's a great orchid.

I was just thinking, I may have heard this presentation before.

Smells great, too. But it does like it warm . . . it's been indoors since before the holidays.

Ah, so I see some converts? This is one of my easiest groups to grow and I love white flowers with fragrance.
I move this March to Corinth, but the weekend prior I am going to Carter and Holmes Spring Open House. It's been 25 years since I have been to the East Coast. Ken, I will be looking you up after I get my GH in!!!

Angraecums like it warm, huh? I may have to go back to the show to see which ones Andy's had in bloom today. Do they require high humidity?

My cute little Jewel Orchids are finally opening, so slowly! The big begonia in the background just made a nice backdrop.
