I tip my hat to you.
Actually I had no clue, so I only wrote Hilda into the Grex line, and then looked through the many hybrids named Hilda and Hilda Something.....

Here is the Coelogyne cristata I picked up three days ago from Silva Orchids. It had plenty buds and most of them are now open. I don't know what possessed me to pick up this plant, since it is a cool grower, but I just couldn't resist! I love it!
I will have to find a cool spot in the house for it next Winter.

I'll say both those Coels are just gorgeous. That white/yellow combination is always fresh and elegant looking.

I am finally home, and schlepping my 'chids back out into the nice warm sunshine. Especially needed to get the 6 plants out of the bathtub . . . I need a good soak myself after lifting toddlers and babies all week and sitting on airplanes.

A few nice bloomers to greet me home - Den. anceps with a flower open on the top side of the leaves although most of the buds are underneath.

Thought I'd lost both my Blc. Goldbrad, but here it is blooming nicely.

Last and best, eight rose-scented blooms on my big NOID catt. You can see how it is crawling out of the pot and blooming on the growth out there, although there are two more spikes getting ready to pop, and another sheath coming along. It's a softer color, more gold and peach when it blooms in the warm weather, and the scent is more spicy too.

Will get the baby pictures off my phone shortly . . such fun, but I am so tired . .. nice to have a sunny Florida day on my own.

Your Noid Cattleya is just gorgeous, I love that color and so many blooms!! Lovey dubby
I just looked at my Den anceps too, it is just starting to bud, mostly on the very oldest growths. Always a fun plant!

Yes, the best part of going away is coming home. I always know when it's time to leave on those family visits - I'm looking forward to sitting on the plane all day! Rolling my eyes.

Here's the new arrival and his big sister. She was sweet when he first arrived, but is not so keen now that she knows he's staying. Second shot, the whole fam damily incl. loud dogs . . . the baby doesn't seem to mind the barking too much!

Forgot to show my nice little Jewel orchids that have held their bloom for me to get home! Just beginning to open on nice tall spikes.

It has been pouring rain here most of the day. If this is the dry season, heaven help us during the wet season. On the bright side, great day for a nap.

Yesterday, I gave some of my Onc some chance to get rain. It will be their only time to get good tropical rain feeling. And today we are back to our low dry humidity scenario..it was good while it lasted.

You must be getting something off the Gulf. We haven't had any "wet" front move through in a week and this last one, though bringing plenty of clouds, was a dry front. We are supposed to get down to (now) 22 F by the end of the week. It is a very mild 65F here now, allowing me to leave all the GH doors wide open.

Yup, rain's moving in from the southwest, off the warm water, so thankfully it's not cold - at least not yet! They're telling us your cold front is coming tomorrow, and we'll be down in the 40's at night for the rest of the week. I sure hope they're wrong!

Sorry to hear that, Melissa.
My weather report isn't so hot either, we had a few hours of icy rain today and the temps are supposed to be in the low single digits F by the end of the week. I am so sick of this cold!!! I can't wait for Snowdrops to pop up along the river here.

65 and sunny here but a cold wind blowing out of the north makes it just a bit chilly. I have all of the plants returned to their proper place so I can claim an end to the house painting project. Here is the latest from the OC:
Dendrobium [Den.] speciosum, this might be a ribbon winner if I can get her to a show soon.
