Grew this from those lima seed "I love you" kits. The leaves look variegated but I don't know the cultivar.

Were these the same plants you asked about on 'that other plant site'?

I hit the button too quickly earlier...where are the photos of the pods and the beans? That would sure be helpful.

Try looking at Phaseolus lunatus ( Dr. Martin's Lima Bean ) or Phaseolus lunatus ( Jackson Wonder Lima Bean ) as either of them can sometimes have variegated leaves.

For some reason I had it in my mind that someone told me that they use the Phaseolus vulgais Beans in those kits? But those are not Lima beans.

I don't have photos as I gave them away shortly after to someone. But I will check out the cultivars you listed.

The University of Delaware is studying lima beans. I copied a small detail from a photo. I have no clue how many different Lima beans are involved in the study, but from the photo it appears that at least one of the plants shows variegated leaves.

I don't like to eat Lima beans but the variegated leaves are very pretty.

I will look forward to the better answers from the experts. I'm done guessing. Thumbs up

Well that looks exactly the same!
Too bad I didn't keep mine to see what kind of lima it was.

Maybe you will receive another gift of the 'I Love You' seed kit and you can grow them again. Thumbs up

I contacted the company and they said it could be Sword Bean.
